I don't remember, and I don't know if this cheat works, but web says:
Effectively complete the game to unlock the "Cheat" choice at the "System" menu. When you are in Cheat mode, there will certainly be a 0 % possibility of encounters, and double the experience, SP, and gold.
Of course without random encounters? what do you do?

This has probably already been figured out by the original poster... but,
When you beat the game you do get somewhat "Cheat" options... but you can select for each one separately. So you can choose:
No encounters
2x EXP
2x SP
2x Gold
So turn on 2x EXP and SP (if you need it), and then go to... probably, Maxim's Castle? Or one of the "legendary weapons" dungeons... it's been too long since I played and I never did pay close attention to the EXP gap in these places... but 2x EXP will obviously make grinding go much quicker.
