Journey to Kreisia is decidedly more challenging than I expected, and that's playing on Normal difficulty. Its mid to late game bosses have been getting nastier and nastier.
Running away isn't guaranteed either, so there's always a slight risk that a ferocious giant enemy will show up with friends in any random encounter, and force a showdown.
This is not a complaint by any means. If anything, it makes the game more memorable.
It's just a shock for me because Revenant Saga - a game made by the same development team, with a very similar battle system - was nowhere near this tough on Normal difficulty, except maybe in the postgame (which could easily be steamrolled with a little level grinding).
