Does Revenant Saga Play Like Alphadia Genesis?
I've only played Revenant Saga (PS4 version), and my review of it might be a little too positive because reasons (the game just clicked), but I do want to emphasize one thing about it. "Normal" difficulty is shockingly easy, even/especially compared to other Exe-Create games. Try "Hard" if you want any real challenge. Difficulty can be adjusted mid-game, anytime.
Other than that, the battle system is straight turn-based, menu-driven JRPG combat. Healing items are cheap and plentiful. The transformation system is supposed to be a risk/reward thing, it's a cool idea at least. The weapon crafting system means that in-game gold is never useless. Stats/levels do matter a lot.
I'll also mention that Revenant Saga on the PS4 has no in-game purchases - its cash shop items can be bought with points earned in-game, instead. Some cash shop items are completely broken overpowered.

@victar I appreciate the reply but I think I should've been more specific about my question. Do the characters move at different speeds when they attack? I don't mind the battle system being turn based, but when I played Alphadia Genesis, I didn't like how slow some of the characters moved when they attacked. The timing of their attacks wouldn't be how I wanted & that would make certain attacks ineffective.

The Speed statistic directly affects how many battle turns characters get in Revenant Saga, and if it's too low then their enemies will attack over and over before party members ever get a turn. Most or all of Exe-Create's turn-based JRPGs are like that, I think?
It's generally only a problem if the party is severely outleveled, or if the player ignores the importance of buffs/debuffs that affect Speed.
It can be an issue for Revenant Saga's postgame or optional challenges, if the player doesn't grind metal monsters to level up. Grinding metal monsters to level up takes 15 minutes or less, with the right setup.

@victar Thanks for explaining further. After reading your reply, I realized it was the graphics & character layout that really bothered me. As you said, Exe Create has a similar battle system & I like the games I've played from them.
Since Revenant Saga uses 3-D graphics similar to Alphadia Genesis, I'll probably pass on this game.
