I also can't help but notice that the first type of revenant you fight bears a striking resemblance to the character.  No way this was a coincidence...

Also, Albert has no one to blame but himself for trusting a guy named Dr. Moreau.

I had more of a Resident Evil/zombie apocalypse feel from Revenant Saga, although that mood was from the main story and completely divorced from the bizarrely lighthearted sidequests.
