Best equipment

The best equipment are obtained in the goddess sanctuary, they are part of the story and can't be missed. You find them in chests for 5 of the characters, and the other 5 are automatically equipped with them when they rejoin you at the end of the dungeon. It's unfortunate that not all Kemco games are this straightforward about their ultimate equipment.

Just to make sure, they are:

Ein: Spirit swords, Spirit bracers, spirit suit, spirit shoes.

Elena: Tall Hammer, Holy shield, Arcana robes, Holy shoes

Alicia: Artemis, Athena gloves, Athena Dress, Athena Shoes

Lynn: Yggdrasil Rod, Mage Bangle, Warlock robe, Warlock shoes.

Theo: Assassin Claws, Assassin braces, Assassin outfit, Assassin shoes

Latea: Brionac, Bahamut shield, Bahamut Armor, Bahamut shoes

Blade: Tyrfing, Royal shield, Royal armor, Royal boots

Yohan: Saber, Aegis shield, Aegis, Talaria

Secile: Blossom edge, dragonborn braces, dragonborn armor, dragonborn shoes.

Abyss: Thanatos, animal paws, legendary pajamas, kitty flops.

 

They can be further upgraded in the gold town using orichalcum to +9. I used the tips in this thread to farm points to buy them from the in-game shop and upgraded every piece of gear to +9 in about 2 hours.
