Penta (Material Gatherer)

In Ryuze Plain, in the northwest corner there's like a "traveler" or something who's getting attacked by a big ball of goo (Sorry but it was awhile back and I don't remember the monster's name).

Anyway, if you fight this monster and "save" the traveler, that traveler is Penta, a sort of bird-like character who will collect Materials for you while you're off doing your thing. Once you've rescued him, you can go to any Inn anywhere in the game, and he'll be hanging out next to the owner.

(And you can buy friends for him in the DM Shop, for 50 points each - which you should be able to earn just from battles.)

Anyway, when you talk to Penta he asks where you want him to go (you can change the destination, and you can send him and his friends each to different locations if you want.) After setting the destination, go off for awhile and when you come back, Penta and his friends will have some Materials to give you.

(I don't know exactly how long it takes, but it seems like I have to go to at least two or three different locations before they're ready to give me anything.)

Anyway, this is a good way to get some extra Materials - and hopefully whatever they bring you will be some of the Materials you need!
