After looking at TGS's lineup I noticed that not a single new game from HP was announced. It then occured to me that it;s been really a long time since we're got a game from them. So I checked the dates. Their very last game (along with JiroIshii) - Raging Bytes - was released Feb, 2023, 19 months ago. Their own game - Gale Windoria - was released Jan, 2022 - 32 months ago.

Do you think we ever will see a new HP game? Or the company is dead?

Nope, they're not.

They just simply develop their entries longer these days. Good for them, I guess, since people always talk about this whenever a new KEMCO game is released.

If you check KEMCO's Android list, their development time cycle usually takes at least a year (maximum). They don't have a game during 2020 either.

It seems more like a normal case than a rare case these days. Also, Raging Bytes takes 1.5 years to develop if you base it on the copyright date.

Their last games are actually animal-based games that they live-streaming on their YouTube channel. https://www.nekoatsume.com/vr/

Maybe it's not their priority anymore to published a new RPG by KEMCO.

I haven't deemed any of Hit-Point's games sufficiently appealing, which means I've never played any of their games, so I certainly wouldn't miss them if they went out of business. Just looking at how many quality games Exe Create releases per year, it's obvious that Hit-Point could do better. Not having played any of Hit-Point's games, though, that's just my personal worthless opinion. :-D

I have a fondness for Hit Point's Genso Chronicles and Justice Chronicles games, but every Hit Point game I've tried was relentlessly grindy. Hit Point games generally have only one difficulty setting, and both experience grinding and grinding for the crafting system are required to progress. Chronus Arc went one notch further and required even more grinding for its job system.

The only exceptions I've encountered are Hit-Point's "Pocket RPG" games Archlion Saga and Everdark Tower, which are ultra short (maybe 2 hours of gameplay each).

I have a few Hit Point games in my backlog but I don't know when I'll get around to playing through them. I tend to play Exe-Create games because they usually make grinding easier/faster, and because I can usually lower the difficulty if I feel like it.

I am a little tempted by Raging Bytes because it has a zombie apocalypse setting instead of a standard fantasy setting.

Chronus Arc was such a POS, hated the difficulty curve of it always one upping their previous grind wall

It was my first HP game and instantly my last one
Kemco games are also on Xbox
