Yeah, vulsvang posted in the Ideas for Menace walkthrough topic about the barrel region:

"Also of note is the island to the right of X Island is full of Barrels. I haven't spent much time there to find what all those barrels drop, but they are most likely just the same as barrels encounters throughout the game."

Barrel Class Monsters are not Recommended to be Fought on Low Levels. One Should At least be level 500+ to even withstand an attack from these guys.

If you think Deneb Peak is bad, try this:

I spent half an hour sailing around the crescent moon continent of Estrella because I couldn’t find a place to get off the boat.

And I still can’t figure out how to equip rings on people. Is it in the weapons tab?

Equipment tab, just below armor, iirc.

Rings are accessories.
