Thanks! I never noticed that--that may be the key. I remember in some prior Kemco game (I don't remember which, something similar in Alphadia Genesis using self-sacrifice). You will still need to be lucky of course, as you just can't have Fleon become a mini (assuming Fleon is by far the biggest hitter you can have). And if that is the path, you should attempt to change the weapons of the two characters involved to get max speed (because Fleon's gold rush doesn't use atk at all) to try to get in your turns. Now, that might not be the way, but I narrowly missed hitting the monster for 1 million (Fleon had "extra turn" bonus coming but then the undead gem killed him). Thaks for reminding me--I didn't know I had 2 undead gems.

Yeah.
Just for kicks I cleared the Hard dungeon, did Quest 14, equipped 2 Undead Gems and 2 Life Gems, and challenged the Hero (mind you I'm at level 68 or thereabout).
I'm litterally sitting here, watching him attack Julie and Fleon about 17,000 times before their turns come around (but then they're both paralyzed, so they don't get to act anyway.) It's mildly amusing because they're both sitting there at 1HP (for now, but I'm really hoping the Gem will kill them soon, otherwise I'll have to force stop the game.)
Life Gem is a complete waste, I can say that much for sure now. If there's an Ore that gives abnormal status resistance (think something to ward off Paralysis), that'd be one way to approach it. Plus Speed boosts.
I wonder if you had one character with a Pre-emptive strike effect in multiple slots, to get it over 100%, if that would give you the first turn in this battle?
And, now, five minutes after starting the battle, Julie and Fleon finally died... So at least I have an idea what you're talking about now, and I can say for sure I am NOT the person to find the winning strategy (at least not right now).

That's some investigating! Yep, against that guy, life gem is useless. Life gem had some mild use in high levels of Hell dungeon, but that's about it. Now your thought about going first: doesn't matter, you can't kill him with just one blow, or even two (at least I couldn't at 743k for two shots), and he will clearly pound on you after your turn. I think the hope is that at least one of your two undead gems is always active so can resurrect the other and maybe get in 3 or 4 Gold Rush or other massive hits before the gems give out. Of course that assumes some reasonable number like 1 million will kill the monster. I didn't see any 100% status blocker accessories, but I did get Lilith lucky one time with the 50% blocker and she actually got a turn (no undead gem on her). [Note: I am assuming that a character with an undead gem CAN be revived--but I've never tried it!]
I'll try the two gem theory a few times tomorrow and hope (a) it is the right tactic and (b) I get lucky. You probably can make a lot of money in Vegas if you bet against me on this!
Thanks for digging into it and providing your experience. Maybe if enough of us fool around we can find the winning tactic, if there is one.

Just a note on what you seem to be implying here: 100% or more does not mean certainty. It is not an absolute percentage, but the percentage increase in the base number. For example, if critical is 20% of the time, getting the enhancement to say "100%" means that an attack will go critical now 40% of the time. I believe I'm right about this (I actually got critical over 100% and sure enough it didn't happen every time.
Perhaps I'm misunderstanding your meaning, and I agree that the game does not make it clear how the percentages work. I had to do trial and error to come to my conclusion, so maybe I'm missing something.

Well, I don't think my tactic will work. I just made a single attempt, and actually hit the monster for about 1.7 million! and didn't faze him at all. [I got lucky--didn't turn into a mini] So a worthwhile attempt, but I don't think it is the answer. Unfortunately, I don't have another idea.

I have a thought that I'm stilling trying to collect all the Ores to test it out:
What if you use the Anchor Ring a (from the IAP Shop - 100 RDP), Undead Gem, and a weapon with a combined 100% "Evade status ailments"?
The Anchor Ring gives a 50% boost, so would a weapon with 100% effectively double the effect of the Anchor Ring?
I don't know as I haven't been able to test it yet, but as soon as I do, I'll post an update.

Well...I'm trying something similar, but with different ores. I have plenty of anchor ring a, and they do help. But against the uber, I'm not sure it makes much difference even if you stop all the ailments, because he hits so hard and often, it doesn't matter much. I'm trying the other tactic: stop him from hitting. I don't know if he is susceptible to paralysis, and it is tough to get the right ore, but I'm thinking one undead gem with a weapon at least 100% paralysis, and Fleon with 100% continuous burst (yes that means more chances for the undead gym to activate). If the uber can be paralyzed.... BTW, I forgot that super rare gem can be stacked, so now I have all 4 characters with a super rare gem and am pounding away. I'm not getting much (plenty of VIT 2), but I'll go on for awhile. The anchor a rings are all over the higher dungeons as drops (probably the hard, and I think at the end of boundary dungeon--which is where I am now, standing beside the restore floor and using encounter every step ring). Your thought about the evade does have the attraction of avoiding paralysis, but I'm not sure it prevents "countdown" (which uber does use).
