I recently tried playing Revenant Dogma on my PS4, and encountered a technical issue. The game worked fine, but the display cut off the very top of the screen. This was most notable when doing things like having the hero steal items in combat. I couldn't read the in-battle text box saying what the hero stole, or if he stole anything at all, because the text box was cropped.

I couldn't find any in-game options to adjust Revenant Dogma's screen display. None of my TV's display options helped. My TV is an 720p HD TV that might be 10+ years old by now, so it's possible that's the real problem. My TV usually doesn't have display problems with video games though.

I can't remember if screen cropping was an issue in Revenant Saga. Maybe not, if only because in-battle text boxes were a bit lower down from the top of the screen?

I did find a workaround. Buying Revenant Dogma on the PS4 entitles the buyer to also download it to a Vita or a Vita TV for free. When I downloaded Revenant Dogma on my Vita TV and played it, the screen cropping problem was fixed. I could read text boxes saying what the hero stole in battle just fine.

The Vita TV version of Revenant Dogma has its own separate technical issue. The game seems to lag a little bit when moving around in dungeons; it's noticeable in comparison to the smoothness of moving around when playing the PS4 version. This is a minor enough thing that I don't really care.

I've barely started playing Revenant Dogma. It is quite clearly Revenant Saga 2.0, although its battle system has been tweaked a little, and it has a completely different story. I don't think it's set on the same world as Revenant Saga? Revenant Dogma reuses Revenant Saga's soundtrack.

Revenant Saga was one of my favorite Kemco RPGs, and I did genuinely like its soundtrack (although it lacked variety, a limitation that I've seen in a number of Exe-Create RPGs). So I'm looking forward to playing through Revenant Dogma quite a bit.

EDIT: The Vita TV version crashed to a black screen and an automatic reboot while I was playing. It could be an issue with my Vita TV, but it did play all of Mystic Chronicles without any problems. I'm giving up on the Vita TV version and starting over with the PS4 version, since I'm right at the beginning of the game anyway. The lack of gameplay lag/load times might be a better trade-off after all.
