The Breaking and Enhancing in the game is actually better than Dogma.... The weapon breaking feature in the game can be used to stack higher level ores, Spirits etc.
The first thing is to upgrade one simple weapon + any type will do .) For Example I upgraded my Light sword to level 600+ since the weapon really needs a low amount of ore what I did was stacked two STR level 1 Spirits ( and make sure they are above 50% ) and then broke the weapon, as a result I got 4 Ultimate Ores( I might have been lucky here ) and some thing like 3 ores of Silver and bronze. The Spirit I got in a result was a STR Level 2 Spirit.

So basically the basic weapon feature is the same as dogma but enhanced a little.

What I have seen people is that they break weapons to move onto new ones. That's not the case. Break the new ones and upgrade the old ones. I have a Light Sword +999 as such and have been auto killing mobs .

Yep, with all that gold, you can buy what is needed to go to +999 (sigh..I don't have much gold at all). Anyway...the "final" boss after the normal ending is only slightly tougher than the Overlord, even for my puny lev 64 gang: Overlord took less than 1 turn, the "final" boss took 2 turns. So that's it for me: I would need to amass Azyleo's mountain of gold to up my weapons enough to try those killer guys in Fairy Land. I also don't feel like doing all 4 character endings....

Hey, Azyleo==thanks for all your tips, they really help. :)

Wait is it cheaper/easier to level a Light Sword? Because that could open up a whole new strategy.

Great question!
I don't think so because the skills aren't as powerful. And it isn't any cheaper: it costs the same to add the "+" stuff as far as I recall.
Now, you do use something like a Light Sword to do the breaking/enhancing to get the lvl 1 spirit up to lvl3. When you break a weapon, very little of what you used to build the "+" gets returned, so once you commit to building the "+", you stick with that weapon. My recollection from Dogma was it took 500k to buy 99 of the bronze things, so it took several million dollars to get one weapon to +999.

By the way, I looked at Fleon, and if you build up speed on a weapon, I think you have a decent chance. Much like Dogma, but here you don't have gold rush or a skill to protect your characters. However, his hit points aren't as high from what I saw, maybe 500k-1 million.

It is easier, but certainly not cheaper, however, I did not buy even 1 meteorite from the store.

Also, Light Sword indeed is much easier to Upgrade, since it requires less meteorites to upgrade. For example

Light sword only needs 18 Ultimate Ores for 999
Blood Sword needs 28 Ultimate Ores for 999

This should tell you that Light Sword is really .such, much easier to upgrade. Also these weapons can easily made by grinding in Hard Dungeon ( With one Super Rare Ring is enough )( you can almost guarantee to find it in the Normal Dungeon ) for Gold Meteorites ( I got 2 Gold Large Meteorites most of the times .)

Since I don't buy them I have a total of 44mil gold now lol. Just save the gold really.

My corrected reply:
A great question about cheap weapons compared to expensive.
Here is my thought about your idea.

Yes, it is cheaper to upgrade a cheap weapon. For example, a Light Sword takes about 14 units to get +1, whereas The Halper takes 158 units. Let's say the spread from low to high is about a factor of 10.

For ease, let's say the base for each weapon is 1 ATK. Then if it takes x gold to get the Light Sword to 1000, it takes 10x for the Halper. And of course for a normal (non-skill) attack both weapons should hit for the same. Advantage Light Sword.

The problem comes when skills come into play. There are two issues here: very few of the cheaper weapons have the same multiple hits as the expensive weapons, but there are some quad hits. There is a 5 hit for the expensive weapon. Of course the expensive weapon requires considerably more SP to achieve the same number of hits (I know, because for awhile I was using a quad hit for only about 50 sp). The unknown here is to what extent is the use of SP linear. Let's take a simple example: cheap weapon (A) vs. expensive weapon B.

Suppose A requires 50 SP to achieve 4 hits, and that SP adds NOTHING to the output, but is just required to generate the skill. We get 4x1000=4000 for our cost of x. Weapon B requires 100 SP to also generate 4000, but we have spent 10x. The difficulty comes in when we consider that SP does factor into the equation. IF, and that is a BIG IF, the SP is linear, then our A yields 4000 x (whatever 50 SP does), but B yields 4000 x 2(whatever 50SP does). Hence we spent 10x on B but we get twice power of A (at the cost of twice the SP). I don't think the influence of SP is strictly linear and is likely "more" than proportional. In the example above, our influence from 100 SP is MORE than twice the influence from 50 SP. How much? We don't know, but as long as we have a more or less unlimited supply of funds, we don't care that A is much cheaper than B if B is significantly stronger. (We need maximum output against the tough bosses).

Whilst what you are saying is very true, but the above strategy is strictly for farming Ultimate Meteorites and Spirits. Of course the Weapons you are saying have Skills that naturally, lower weapons do not have.
In the latter half you said about the funds required, and that is very true, because not everyone has an "n" number of gold at their disposal( Not to mention that I have an abnormal amount of Gold) , here I will also say , gold is strictly needed for breaking Weapons not upgrading them, why buy the items when you can farm; but yes some people don't have the luxury of time to do that ( obviously .)

To the SP part..... It doesn't play a role in upgrading weapons , and yes, I have confirmed that. Its more of the constant value in your equation. Since I have a light sword with Shining Thruster , and one with a normal light slash, both require the same amount of meteorites. I think that the amount is directly proportional to the base ATK of each weapon, since I have seen that Light Sword needs exactly the same points(Lets call this n ) of its ATK (Lets say that ATK "x" ) upgrade to +1. In the next upgrade it requires to upgrade to +2 is nx ,(not nx² because that value might be insane ) which made the most sense to me.

Overall yes, what you have written is very correct, and this strategy can only be used for people having a good amount of gold if they have less time. But a few amount of gold if they have more time.

Yes, I wish I had the success farming for meteorites you had, because as you note, then you don't need gold. I didn't spend much time in the Fairy Dungeons (I completed the first 3, but didn't bother with Hell) and never found much there. I traded that time for breaking/enhancing (not sure that was good trade, but it worked out ok). It is far better if you can get the meteorites and save the gold for the other stuff. My worry would be that I don't want to "waste" my limited meteorites on inferior weapons. In fact, I didn't use the ones I had until the very end when I knew which weapons I would use. I guess if I thought I would find enough meteorites to enhance multiple weapons that would be the way to go, but I was finding so few that I didn't like my chances. I certainly ran out of gold more than once  --I'll try your method next time we get a similar game.

I think Azyleo's method could be good for the game itself (up to the actual ending.) Because honestly any weapon with a high enough ATK will destroy even the final boss. And a Light Sword is base ATK 20, vs the strongest sword base ATK 120. So +999 on either one = annihilation.

I doubt the skill on the weapon would really matter.

The burning question is can you beat Enna with a +999 Light Sword, and I'm not sure I want to put in the effort to find that out.

But leveling a Light Sword would make grinding in Fairy land a snap. Especially if you a good pre emptive to go with it.

Edit: meteorites galore in the Hell dungeon.
