Fairy Garden boss strategies, anyone?
Thanks. But it does make me wonder....are the Fairy Garden bosses susceptible to status ailments, like poison? I doubt it, which is one reason I didn't go that route, but it is an open question. In either Dogma or Savior I built a paralyze weapon, but it just didn't activate, so I don't know if it would have worked. Even at 100% I think the probability of activation is still low, and I don't want to waste a turn in a tight battle.
What about Aura Fill? Maybe we missed the boat and Fleon and Yurius could have been toppled at much, much lower levels using Aura Fill. I think to defeat Enna requires the massive grinding and maximum upgrades, but the other two bosses don't. I recall Azyleo beat Fleon at about lev 111 (but he did have a +999 weapon), and I was at 132 or so. I was around 280? first time against Yurius, and barely beat him, (no +999 for me), but had no trouble with him when I got over 300 and built up STR. So maybe we missed the boat, and should have been using Aura Fill much earlier. We were stubborn and stuck with the grinding, more power to us, but I don't think we win the crown for smarts as we probably overlooked some easier methods.

Well, that's the curse of being a casual player, I think. Not enough patience or experience with developing "real" strategies. (At least that's my excuse) :cheer:
I dunno if the bosses are susceptible to status ailments or not - no wait I take that back. I did hit Yurius with "Rage" I think (but that was attached to the skill, not from an Added Effect.) But, yeah, when you can beat Enna in 4 or 5 rounds, there's really no point to using Poison in the first place.
Level 280 against Yurius? I need to take lessons from you, then. I barely beat him when I was around 750 (but, in full disclosure my weapons were crap. ATK + 5, or thereabout, and no added STR, INT, etc.)
I'll be interested to see if you can beat Enna on Hell mode.
(Although I do enjoy these bonus bosses, and they do seem rather challenging until you find the right strategy, I think that the only bonus boss that is STILL a major pain in the posterior, even with the winning strategy, is Apocalypse from Alphadia. THAT battle is the true test of patience and determination.)

All your base are
I did hit one of the bosses with Laziness, but as you note, that is built into the weapon, and not an enhancement.
I'm not going to put in more time at a futile attempt to beat Enna on Hell. Perhaps Aura Fill might make it possible, but I'm happy enough with how we all traveled through the game. Plenty of wasted time going down the wrong paths, for sure. I did a quick retrospect:
beat Overload lev 53
final boss lev 64
Fleon lev 133 (no +999)
Flurius about 280 first time with one +999
Flurius 305 2nd time--easy victory
Enna--max out, not many turns on Easy
So I felt ok about the low levels for the regular game, and not bad about Fleon, but think there must be an easier way to tackle Flurius. Just for fun I went back when I was maxed out and my first player on the first turn killed him (well, level 999 vs. about 500--hardly anything to boast about).
It was fun seeing all of us struggle (well, Azyleo did not struggle  :silly:
:cheer: ), and it made the journey more entertaining.

I recall finding it possible but tough to defeat the Giga Energi Dragon in Alphadia Genesis. Diavolo in Crimson Gem was not quite as tough, but I'm sure I didn't have the right strategy. Beating Bandismor in Link Hearts was very tough when I didn't have a Laguna Tablet, but after I got one, it was much, much easier. By the way, poison worked well on Bandismor. I generally don't take notes, so I'm sure I left some off this list. Although I always play the games to normal end, and usually bonus end, I don't try to beat every monster. For example, in some of the arena games, I don't always try to complete the bonus arena.

I know that SOME bosses can be, but not all. And it isn't easy to test...But poison is very effective if you can do it. In most of the games where it has proved to be effective, it tends to be from a high probability skill or such. In Savior, and from my experiment with paralysis in Dogma, it appeared to me that the probability of activating the skill was low, even with 100% enhanced weapon. Couple that with some unknown probability that the boss can evade the status ailment, and it can be frustrating to test. But you are right--if you can make it happen, it is such a benefit you will likely win the battle. I gave up on it because I thought, "Well, I spent all this time getting a 100% (or more) weapon for this status ailment, and I've tried it a few times and it hasn't even activated, so I don't even know if the boss can block it." That was just too much for me, so I quit trying. I should have continued, because I know I tagged somebody, I think Enna once, with Laziness, and that should have convinced me that poison would work, but I was too dense to pick up on it. Sigh.

Just thinking about some more, Azyleo, and I think your idea would work well on Hell setting. Build up one character with the most poison you can get (probably 2x40%=80%) and have everybody else have resources and healing skills. Keep trying to poison Enna, and have everybody play defense until you poison her. Then divert just one player to attack having had Aura Fill applied, and keep everybody healing, etc. Then just wait her out. I think it could be done. For me: I dismantled my weapons that had poison (well, I broke almost everything), and they aren't easy to come by. I don't even remember where these weapons are found, I guess in Hell dungeon, where I'm on level 171. I don't want to spend the time trying to get more poison weapons, breaking them, etc., but my guess is your idea is a good one.
I forgot: I do have a 92% paralysis weapon--but when I tried it (on Yurius) it never fired.
Paralysis hardly works on any boss.
But with poison, I think poison occurs more than paralysis.
Wow, are you right. I started an experiment. While I was falling asleep, I decided to test the probabilities. I would attack Fleon 10 times with the special weapon, using my highest INT character. I would do this first on easy, then on normal, etc. I would then repeat the cycle on Yurius. This would show the impact of changes in difficulty level, boss defense, and yield something useful about frequency of activation (even a miss gives information).
Well...I took my 92% paralysis sword and on Easy whacked Fleon 10 times with it using a character with 4782 INT. Results: paralysis never even activated! So I didn't need to go through the entire cycle.
So once again, no surprise, Azyleo hits the nail on the head. If I had a poison weapon I would attempt the experiment outlined above.
