A lot of this is already covered in "Slow going in Glorious Savior," but putting it right up front in a new topic might help new people in the game to find this info easier.
So, up until the True End of the game, you don't need to worry too much about levels or weapon ATK power. (Choose one weapon for one person, and raise it's ATK to +500 or so and you should be able to annihilate just about anything... of course +999 is even better, if you can afford to buy that many meteorites, but it may not be necessary just for beating the game.)
After the True End, you should have several high-powered weapons with powerful skills. (Get at least one staff with God Breath, that skill is awesome in the Distortion.)
Choose one weapon per person as their primary attack weapon, and start raising the weapon's ATK as high as you can. Do this for one person at a time, and if possible, start with the person who has God Breath.
Also, complete the quests that give you the Sage Spirit, the Demon-Call Ring, and the Weak Talisman Ring.
Add the Sage Spirit to any weapon, and go for a high rating (I settled on +88% but higher may be possible).
This part has not been tested but is based on my experience grinding in this game, plus my knowledge of how to grind in Revenant Dogma:
I didn't start using this method until I was already around level 300, and then I didn't really perfect it (as much as it is perfect, which ain't that much) until level 700. But it should work from the first moment you enter the Hell dungeon, no matter what level you're on.
Again, after completing the True End, enter the highest-level dungeon that' s available to you. (Meaning Easy if you haven't done it yet, and then work your way up to the Hell dungeon.)
As soon as possible, enter the Hell dungeon and equip the Devil-Call Ring. This will give you an encounter with each step.
Now, go to Sytem Options, and set Difficulty to Easy, and Battle shortcuts to "Use."
Now you get an encounter with each step, and as soon as the enemies are weaker than you (which could be immediately), each encounter will jump straight to the results screen. As soon as you're tired of grinding, swap out the Devil-Call Ring for the Weak Talisman Ring, and explore the dungeon with NO encounters (since the enemies are weaker than you, they won't show up.)
NOTE: Remember to save your game often, because if you DO lose a battle in the dungeon, you could be sent back to the Great Hall (although you will have the choice of restarting the battle, so if you choose that you should be fine.)

The only difference is weapon selection, which took me awhile to realize: each character needs ONE primary weapon, one weapon of opposite (ATK or INT), then two "support" weapons, with good effects, but ignore ATK since you won't use support weapons in battle anyway.
But everything else is the same.
In the end I think it is best to make Crystal Sword and Equivalent your +999 special weapons with Fever Enhancements. Have One Weapon With only SPD. Have one with an STR and INT, One with Critical and Buff, and one with secondary weapon standards. This should be , SHOULD BE your Best weapon.
Yes, that sounds almost right. The Buff is super if you can do it, but I'm not sold on the critical, because it doesn't always activate, so I prefer another 100% strength (which is like always having critical, isn't it?). I'm also not sure if the INT is needed. It depends if you will need a magic attack, and your HP should be sufficient for defense without the need for more INT. You will have to test the final boss to see if just the 2 SPD are enough. I want the 7 hit weapons for 2 of my hitters, and I would like a power weapon that reduces defense (I only have a weak weapon for that). The Frost sword causes some delay, and I recall some big weapon can cause laziness. However, I'm not sure the tradeoff of a certain 7 hit for a 4/5 hit with uncertain status effect is good--depends on the opponent, I think.

Critical compared to Strength (only for physical attack weapons)
Here is what I think happens, but maybe my assumptions are incorrect. I don't know for sure how much increase in hit there is with a critical, but let us assume it is double a normal hit (it surely is not more than that). I believe that the crit effect increase is applied to the (unknown) BASE crit rate, and is not an absolute percentage. Why do I think this? Because in Dogma I made a more than 100% effect, which makes no sense, AND it did not always activate. So what can we expect if this is the case? If you have a 100% crit increase, and a crit hit is double a non-crit, the expected value EV (the long term average) increase is in fact equal to the base crit percentage. If the base crit is say 20% (which seems high to me), we would get an EV of +20% for the crit effect.
Strength is easier to calculate, but is dependent on our configuration. The more str you already have, the less marginal value you get for the next str you add. For example, one of my characters currently has attack 9871, and if I remove one str, the atk becomes 8409. So for that character, the EV for that last strength is 17%. Of course if you hit a cap on strength (which if you level high enough you will), the the str item is useless.
So Azyleo is more right than I am, in that at the higher character levels, crit will probably be worth more than an additional STR.

Often people mistake this but let me make this crystal clear, ATK and STR are two different things. ATK is influenced by STR but not the otherway around ,however STR is capped at 9999 aand ATK can go beyond 9999. The amount of STR is added to ATK when you are doing damage to an enemy, however the damage output is affected by
(ATK*STR)/2 - Opponent calculated VIT = total % of Damage Output
(this was for Dogma, and this stands true for Savior I think ). From the above is easy to deduce that the normal damage out is divided by the Factor of 2 and subtracted from the VIT aka DEF of opponent. If we assume that critical is the double of normal attack than just remove the 2 factor from there.
So when you have capped your Character to 9999 so its better to invest in Critical afterwards. However doing this early in game is not recommended.
-----------SIDE NOTE------------OFF TOPIC---------------
MSG can you make a prompt on Deleting a post, since butter fingers like mine some of the times accidently press the Delete button ( almost did it with 1oldtymer , thank goodness that I didn't press and release and instead press/hold it lol )
Umm... about that. I just saw the deleted messages in this thread, and wrongly assumed that you and 1oldtymer had deleted a couple posts on purpose, and well, I kind of permanently deleted them.
If it happens again, check to see if there's an option to "restore" the post. Otherwise there's not a lot that I can do.
