Just asking,, to have an UR character does mean i need to combine SR with the same type?

No,UR and SR is different,an SR this type you can get this trough evolve,UR you can get this type from gacha(i forgot what it name)

Indeed,i think it would be a waste to use crystal for that(yeah you need to limit break your Hero right)
