With the lack of any other information I say that You should level up a bit more, and maybe equip Yourself with the best at that time equipment available. If You die, then surely You're underleveled. Plus, You might want to change the difficulty to Easy.

Basically what Nemo said. If you over level yourself then the battle becomes a breeze. If you don't want to do that, then a +100 Weapon with STR or INT can help you take them on. Works on Hard as well.

Tell us what Your weapons and jewels are. Most of time they're the key to victory. Add Paralysis to them. If You have the "Attack All" jewel, use it too (though I'm not sure if at this point of the game You have access to it, if not, use a weapon with a similar effect). Tell us why exactly You can't beat them.

Maybe him use shortsword and khaki vest(the first equipment in this game) jk, i think him was use him best equipment but him still in low level. Maybe.actually this squirrel so easily to beat up,oh dear how can someone stuck in here or maybe him at level 35 with expert difficult actually if you wan't multiple kill you should wear lucile a lucky gloves you will find this at tenebrant city,that gloves have high stun rate(yeah maybe not gelar like you though) anda use all jewel,
