Just saw this in the Play Store. It is $4.99 and you get the usual 1000 points. Kemco/Exe Create. 8 bit retro style. Haven't decided yet to buy it. Anyone know anything about it?

I'm 10 minutes in and I'm in LOVE.

8-bit graphics, cheesy music, castles, dragons, job classes... Awesomeness.

(It is another Exe Create but it feels nothing like their recent games from what I can see.)

Here's the official Kemco youtube video:

And my cheesy 4-minute video to show towns/battles/menus:

Ok. 30 minutes in, I just entered the first dungeon.

It's definitely an Exe Create game... but somehow the 8-bit graphics, and the "kill the dragon" story line, make it "feel" like it's not just another ripoff as Asdivine.

But I think it's the same game engine (or whatever it's called, the game mechanics are the same). Still I can't help but want to play more...

I'll update again sometime tomorrow after I'm a couple hours into it.

Quick update, I like this game enough that I bought the Premium version. There's no IAP dungeons, but there's a skill doubler, EXP, etc, plus some items for learning "job skills."

So you don't need to go Premium, but if you can afford it you might as well.

There are options for difficulty, encounter rate, and mini map.

The coolest thing so far is the "teams." There's apparently 3 main characters, 1 human, 1 elf, and I expect, 1 dwarf. The other playable characters join your party as "followers."

This ends up with you having 3 teams, each one with a team leader (who you can't change) and up to 3 followers (who you can change/reassign to a different team.)

You can swap teams IN BATTLE! And it doesn't waste a turn.

Also, each character has a job class, and skills are learned as your job ranks up. You can change jobs at any chapel, but I haven't done it yet.

Early Prediction: This game could have the potential to be as popular as Asdivine Dios (depending on how long the game is, and if the story and dialogue continue to impress and entertain me.)

I highly recommend this game!

I'd sum it up as "EXE-Create, 8-bit with all the modern conveniences." Honestly it reminds me more of a 16-bit game in 8-bit clothing. We get the character focus and more complex gameplay systems that were more common in the SNES and moving into the PSX era but the graphics are totally Dragon Warrior 3. I like too how it's native resolution is still modern but they just used a bigger brush and a smaller grid.

All in all I'm moderately enjoying it. If anything it's making me want to play DW 3 again but I never want to look for those orbs again in my life LOL

Tips: Keep your teams racially segregated. Bad, I know, but monster vulnerabilities are based on the player's race and I'm noticing monster troupes are often the same type so you can fight them with all four characters being at an advantage.

The best thing: OMG YOU CAN LOOT! You have no idea for how long now I've been wanting to loot in a Kemco game!
The worst thing: They totally missed the chance to call it "Dragon Shanker".

I've put about 4 hours into it now; still enjoying it. :cheer:

I've already mastered several classes, so I expect I'll be publishing job/skill lists in the next day or two.

(I'm using the skill doubled from the IAP Shop)

Disclaimer: So far the game is not bad. I'd probably give it 3.5 to 4 stars. But....

I do not like Mia. At all. Yes, I get that she will most likely "grow" and change. Cliche is duly noted. But, right now, I would like to call her some very un-feminist names and strongly suggest her father go all corporal-punishment on her tush.

And, and.....(I'm very cranky today. :P ): OMG, Dragon Stinker! Stop making me choose a dialogue option for EVERY. LITTLE. THING. Sometimes there isn't even an option. You just have to tap the screen to select the one reply given. :silly:

The whole "only one reply" thing is meant to represent the main character talking like a normal character but they just it a little wrong here.

Also, I'm finding that since I can flee from battle 100% I've been going to loads of areas way above my level for some high-end loot. I've found 2 dream fragments so far too. Just random wandering around on the map and going "oh, there's a tree tile in the middle of desert tiles. Let's check there."
