Ok, in the "lottery" in the IAP Shop, there's a chance to win animals to put in your party. (I don't know why...)
Anyway I just got a gorilla using a standard Lottery Ticket:

The in game help has more info on the lottery.
If anyone gets any other animals, post 'em here! B)Attachments:Screenshot_2016-09-21-14-56-51.jpg

The Lottery is hilarious in this game. Unlike other games, where tickets aren't going to get you anything useful for more than 15 minutes, here you can just pretty much at the start randomly get a 240 DEF armor which is probably going to stay on you through the whole main game. Also, you can "tweet" for 10 DSP every time you get a rank 2 or 1 thing, and nothing's really stopping from using multiple saves.
Btw, fun fact 1: animals of the same group differ only by stats, the only difference between jobs is their name. (So both Gorillas have the same skill selection no matter if they are the Tree Ruler or Jungle King, etc.)
Fun fact 2: their jobs are just copies of already existing ones with job and skill names changed. Gorillas are Monk ripoffs, Owls are Sage ripoffs and Cats are Thief ripoffs. So animals are basically just a trade between better stats and auto-skills (animals can't change jobs and therefore get more auto-skills). And there are pretty nice auto-skills that animals don't have.Attachments:Screenshot_2016-09-22-06-09-43.pngScreenshot_2016-09-22-06-04-40.pngScreenshot_2016-09-22-06-04-30.png

Yeah, the first thing I noticed with my gorilla was that (when I got him) he was massively OP when compared to my other followers. I don't know if that's still true if, say, everyone is level 50 or so (since I've just barely hit level 20.)
It seems like the animals are really cool, but I'm certain that they are not needed in order to beat the game. (In fact it's probably better to use followers.)
