30 hours 54 min for the True Ending, on Normal difficulty. All sidequests are complete.
Very little time was spent in arenas.
Fighting enemies on the Metal Monster island with a Tick-Tock Hoop made the postgame level grind from 60+ to 100+ VERY fast.

Beat to true end and I beat all the sidequests on the 1st playthrough so I didnt bother for the 2nd one.
I don't feel like doing a deep dive here because quite frankly, RS is.a very mid game. The only thing hoing for it is that the story starts oit intresting but falls apart at the end as the devs rush the ending so there's no real impact. This is also a game where Esther should have been the protagonist so the twists would have more of an impact and her personal conflicts would be relatable. Frankly, the game just forgets about its own plot points and its confusing to follow where the plot should go.
Even the gameplay is confusing and I just still cant figure out what the hell kinda game it wants to be. For instance, Bruno has the skillset of a caster yet has the highest HP of the crew amd Esther has no physical skills despite everyone else having at least one. Bosses use physical reflect to punish people who stay in Revenant form which indirectly makes Julia useless because she has to be a Revenant to use magic. This means that you either have to risk losing control of Julia and getting her killed to use magic or just have her defend and use items while the boss wails on you. Its just such a mess of confusing and contradictory design decisions that does nothing to elevate an already mid game.

We don't make mistakes. We just have happy accidents.
I might have reviewed Revenant Saga too positively. It was my first 3D Kemco game and had a very strong appeal to me when I played it, especially since the "zombie apocalypse" (well, revenant apocalypse) story premise is quite rare in RPGs.
In hindsight, one of Revenant Saga's flaws, also shared by Revenant Dogma, is that there are not many options for customization. You get new skills by leveling up, and you can customize your weapon, and... that's it. This drastically limits player strategy. Julia's relative weakness is a side effect of the dilemma.

You're right about the lack of customization as each character tends to fit a role and you can tell this is essentially the Kresia, Fanactic earth, and Dogma's system here. Dogma does do it better by giving you a different types of Revenant you can transform into for particular situations and each character in Dogma has much better skillsets that ensure you're not screwed over. Kresia is also better in that regard as each character in that game has a skillset that clearly tells you what Yusis & Co. are supposed to be.
That being said, I think this game is interesting in retrospect because you can see why EXE-Create uses a two-pronged approach when it comes to skills and magic so that each character isn't severely handicapped like how all the physical attackers have an innate magic element to compliment their physical skills.
