I'm afraid I don't understand your question. The "Catalog" can be found in the main menu (upper right area between "Quests" and "Customize"). In the main menu's "Items" section (upper left corner), there's an "Onigoes" sub-folder on the right edge. Here you can see your captured Onigoes, and set them free. It neither information is what you're looking for, please clarify your question.

Check link above, it has all the info you will need if you want to see all Onigoes you can catch (2-4 page are what you should read).

I already know about the list, but I just don't understand where you
can see if I "caught" the critters

Oh, I think you want to know where can you see if you caught a specific monster already or not.. Well, I started
game less than hour ago and I think I get it. You won't see if you captured said enemy I think as game tells "You
can see captured Onigoes in Menu-Items-Onigoes". So the game doesn't tell if you have at least one of a monster
captured or not.. Welp that's evil and i guess thats the reason cause its an old game so no QoL features exist..
Unless I'm wrong which I can.

This might be an issue when you want to have one of Every Onigo available to use so I will as a rule of thumb do this:

Enter any area I want all Onigoes from.
Capture one of each Onigo in said area, then move on.
Prey I did not miss any Onigo.

I wrote the whole thing down with where you behaved.
I think if I have the creature then I'll write it through so I
know I already have it. are fortunately only 180.

A small question (off-topic: Why do you use that font as it kinda messes up the forums idk why ?)
