How can I get a 50 hit combo in a row?

If you're strong enough (high enough levels and elemental skills) and have access to enough multi-hit skills (especially the wind-based ones), it's feasible to reach 50 hits. This is how I did it, for example.

Set a fusion with the following skills: Slash Combo, Cyclone, Hurricane, Tornado, Storm and Burn (this setup uses all 40 available distribution points). When your fusion skill can be used (at 100%), look for an enemy group of 4 and launch the fusion.

The enemy group must be composed of 4 (and not fewer) foes, since the wind skills set for the fusion hit every (!) foe three times. This means an enemy group of 4, hit by a fusion set up in the aforementioned way, will be hit 54 times (4 + 12 + 12 + 12 + 12 + 2).

Grinding the SP to learn the highest level wind skill is tedious and annoying, unless one is willing to purchase the SP x3 DLC, or spend a lot of IAP Shop currency on multiple accessories to increase SP growth. But there is no need to reach for one's wallet.

An easier way to get the 50-hit combo is to equip the Duo Crest on your combo-happy character. The Duo Crest makes every hit count as 2 combo hits, including spells, so a low-level wind attack that normally hits a group of 4 enemies 12 times now counts as 24 combo hits.

Then just customize your Fusion Meter with plenty of multi-hitting attacks and use it in a battle.

It's important to remember that all combo hits need to be done by a single character - if another character attacks (because, say, their skill is listed in the customized Fusion setup) then the combo breaks.

The coin shop (which is not an IAP shop, thankfully) sells the Duo Crest for 15 silver coins.

Alternatively, one can earn a free Duo Crest from the Award menu by fusing weapons 80 times.  Store-bought weapons don't add weapon power when fused and I assume they don't raise the weapon fusion count. It's still reasonably possible to find 80 weapons to fuse in a normal playthrough, without any accessories to boost drop rates.
