So... that was a ballsy ending (spoilers follow).

Not sure if they are trying to leave it ambiguous or it's just an issue of the limited storytelling capability of the game engine, but man.

We've got Valen going through all this character growth and finally getting over his need for revenge, only to still get caught up in the web of vengeance he had taken part in.

I'm not sure if he's dying from his wound or about to jump off the cliff at the end, but either why, using his last moments to show Leila the outside world was a beautifully sad way to end it. Especially when you consider what might happen to her once he's dead.
I'm still really impressed with the quality of the story in this EXE Create game, given how rough some of their other games can be.

What did other people think of that ending?

Hey, a bit late but here i go.

Miden Tower is an Amazing and Excellent story for me. I like the story flow plot of the game and one of my taste in Animes and RPG story plot.

The normal ending is sad and too tragic. Kinda remind me of Shield Hero if more dark story.

Valen is already changing from his Innocent Revenger character. With the help of his companions mostly due to Leila.

He died without his companion knowing or either Leila for the moments. Maybe until they find this body.

And it's just too tragic to think how will  Leila react or become after knowing Valen died while they were talking in the cliff.

True ending end the cycle, and Valen finally found a family. Which is good.

It is why this game is special to me.

My journey to end the darkness ends up losing someone I loved. Now I realized that there's no victorious in either sides. It's all about the casualties it caused...
