As far as I remember, x-ray specs doesn't exist in this game.
Well, every chest are easy to find anyway.

I happen to know x-ray specs DO exist in this game. I have only had one, though, and I didn't see it in the Shop Item Exchange. I am not finished with the game yet, so I may have a better answer later.
