Goddamn this game's final boss is just bullshit. Three fkin phases, no healing in between, hits super hard and just really tanky. What strategy you're using to nail this bastard? I managed to get his health to 1/4 on the final phase but everyone got rekt because i can't use consumables anymore.

I really hate how there's a limit of how many consumables can be used in battle. And the dumbest thing, no way to revives dead golem except with the freakin rings right? Like if Lock died, how are you supposed to revive him? You can't equip the ring on him.

Just a dumb design decision imo.

EDIT:

Buahahhahahaa!! i barely managed to kill the final boss. I had x2 people on foot, Lock and maxed defense Plumme with Solid Edea Stone on the final phase. Party was around Lv.95.

Acid special ammo is really ridonkculous. Lock alone has 14 ammo slots, which means he can use 14 special ammo in one battle. So i popped 14 Acid ammo on the first turn and the boss got affected with 9(!!) stacks of Acid. Acid lasted for two turns and he got damaged for 21000 damage per turn! 42000 damage and he only have 1/4 health left.

After that it's a battle of attrition because i severely lacking on firepower due to already losing two of my golems, though Solid Bullet damage from Plumme actually deals good damage. Around 6000-8000 iirc.

So yeah, stock up on special bullets. They're actually powerful especially Acid.

ANOTHER EDIT:

Tried doing the final boss fights again, this time i was spamming Acid on each forms. Managed to beat it without problems. I tried using the explosive ammo, but it only deals 28.000 damage with 9 stacks and i have to wait for 3 turns before it goes off. Acid is better. Also might wanna use Power Ball or attack buff skill beforehand, cuz special ammo deals decent initial damage.
What an ass...

Special Ammunition is the Way of Life.

Get the Golem in the Pure Edea Forest through the Edea Thieves lab once you reached the Imperial Ruins. Its main cannon, Fiery, can remove buffs from the final boss. There are other Fiery cannons that you may have when defeating previous bosses so you can equip them if you haven't sell them yet.

The T-Rex looking Golem. Unlock Plumme's 3rd passive skill which allows you to deal additional damage based on its DEF (You should have sufficient Edea Stones if you've collected them in the previous dungeons).

I can also recommend using Oorooga, the speed golem, as a support. This is mainly to have it use items quickly to buff and heal fast when you're in a pinch. It can also be equipped with healing skills as well. Upgrading its Mob is my recommended choice but a little bit of attack can be useful too.

You can upgrade each golem to carry more magazine capacity for special ammunition (I purposely upgraded it to 8 capacity since there are 8 types of special ammo).

If your skills are in cooldown in the upcoming phases, you can buy Quicken Ball to reduce CT to all allies. You can get all items in Pacifista or White Radish HQ.

Have any character equipping the Pow/Def buff skill to allies which can last for 3 turns and another character to use a Critical Ball item before unloading all your special ammo on the final boss.

(Tip: Before firing Lock's special ammunition, have another character unloading their special ammos on the final boss. The debuffs will help Lock do increased damage overall when he throws all his special ammo)

Stock up on Jamming ammo as it can reduce Pow, Def and Mob. Use Acid for DoT damage. With the Power and Crit buff, it's the right time to throw all your special ammo on him. Lock can carry the highest special ammo capacity. His stats should be focused on his Pow (Although I did put 40 points in his Def and Mob). This allows him to deal the highest damage possible when he unloads all his special ammo on the final boss. The Honey Bee's 2nd skill can pierce and shred enemies in a line. Equip it on your strongest golem for insane damage. Remember to have the buffs active.

I was at level 86 when I did this. I had to farm a bit of gold when I realized that I was nearing the endgame so I could stock up on items and ammunition. I had 30 of each buff, healing and recovery items as well as 80 of each special ammunition. It was overkill when I got to the final boss that it didn't feel like a final boss LOL.

You should be able to clear the 3 phases easily and any other post-game bounties.
