Beating Bonus GOVA

Bonus GOVA is one of the toughest, but also the cheapest (that is, nastily unfair) boss monsters in Kemco Land. You will need to grind until your tablet/phone overheats and melts, and it will help to have lucky rabbit's foot and horseshoes available too. Anyway, below is how I defeated him, but I hope you find a better method.

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to destroy bonus GOVA.
Hero, Stacia, Will, and Rudee: We accept!
Listen up team: GOVA throws Confusion (multiple), Seal (multiple), Death, and very
strong attacks. Use appropriate gear to protect yourself.
Assignments: Hero, you attack with Adamantine Fist after your Brave Burst.
Everybody else, you ALL heal using all full-cura, revive, and restore. Whenever possible, use Force Veil and Protection. Don't bother
even looking at GOVA, just attend to keeping the party ALL alive EVERY turn.

About 8 turns or so, if we are lucky, otherwise the coffin maker will be working overtime.

What happens after we defeat Gova?
Well, you get some interesting story; Rudee, if present, has an interesting
goodbye; you get 170000 EXP (useless, of course), and that's it.

I probably fought that guy a dozen times before giving up. Now I'll have to find an excuse to play this game again, so I can try your strategy.

I wouldn't call it a strategy. Massive grinding to max DEF (easy to get the vitality fruits drops), and then just hanging on with fingers crossed that Gova attacks the wrong team member. At least the battle only takes a few turns. But I really think he is a no fun/entertainment monster--just hard. :sick:

Actually there is an easier way without grinding to maxed defense. I want to write this info here back then when i beat gova but kinda forgot about it.
I don't know if this is what you meant with Brave Burst though. Might be the same thing. But here it is.

So when you enter the room with gova the first time, your father will say something about "if only i have the sword." Go back out from the room and backtrack to the 1st crossroad you found. Go right.

This is a small area and at the end of it there is a sword stabbed into the ground. The sword is by far the strongest weapon i got. But the main thing is when you equip this sword you have an access to an awesome skill called Brave Force which not only deals huge holy damage but it also reduce enemy's all stats with 80MP costs.

So yeah this is basically a cheat weapon meant to be used against Gova :woohoo:

What i did is pack up lots of MP healing items to battle. Use Brave force on 1st turn then spam God Hand. Use Brave Force again after the debuffs wears out. Then God Hand spam again.

Why God Hand? Because it heals a percentage of the damage dealt. So i dont need to use healers to keep my party healthy, since healers and mages got 1-2 shotted anyway even with Brave Force debuffs thx to their low health. I don't bother with buffskills since Gova has a skill that nullifies buffs and as long as my HP is above 6000 i can tank everything Gova throws at me with Brave Force debuffs up.

That works great! I didn't have that weapon, but with it and doing as you said made it easier, but only about 1 or 2 turns shorter. However, I was never in any danger, so I didn't need any good luck :cheer:

Thanks again--fighting without the debuffs was not easy.

Respect for beating him. After I beat the game, I felt it was not worth the effort. The reward did not equal the input of effort IMO which is how I feel about most of the kemco games with extra material. But with that said, if others feel it is worth the effort, go for it! Those extras are not easy at all much of the time.

I know what you mean. Partly that is true for any final boss, as the only possible reward at the end is some story. And certainly the effort to beat Gova that I put in was not worth it. BUT...if I knew about Kamantierr's secret, well, the effort would not have too much. However, without that knowledge, I agree the pain to get in position to beat Gova was definitely not worth it. Laugh is on me--sort of like a cartoon where you see me struggling up a sheer mountain side, leaping across deep chasms, struggling for oxygen, and finally pulling myself, completely exhausted up to the peak. I look up...and "What's up doc?" from a completely rested Bugs Bunny, who didn't climb at all, as behind him you can see a modern paved highway leading to the summit. If only I had known....

Good news, everyone. I finally reached and beat the final boss (Gova) in the epilogue. Peace of cake. Nothing to it. It only took me 44 days from the day I started playing the game (Dec 26 to Feb 8).

Aside from the clunky menu, I thought it was a pretty good game, especially since it's now "Actually Free" on Amazon Underground.
Lots of stuff to keep track of, though.

You're too kind. I thought I'd get a rise out of someone at the mention of 44 days since most probably finished in less than 44 hours.
