Quest 13 Avenger (Help!)

Ok so.. In subquest 13, Rita (In Navia Town) wants me to defeat the "monsters" in Poncham Shrine and then report back to her, but... here's the problem, I have no idea what monsters she's talking about. I initially thought it meant killing random encounter monsters at the Feral Realm Border, so I tried to grind some.. but then I was having doubts.. so.. what am I supposed to do exactly?

Woah maybe caught this too late but make sure you’re hiring the cave up north where you first started the game and you’ll find a monster at the bottom. Once defeated Allen walks on screen to meet you.
