Upgrading Weapons

I meant effects, don't know why I said parameters. Sorry
So I'm in the game, tap on Upgrade, choose Ratona.
My base weapon is Light Rod +54 (purple)
with HP 20 MP 20 HP with an arrow 25 MP with an arrow 16
(I know there's no STR, or any of the others you guys talked about, but I think it's cool so I'm keeping it)
So, if I wanted to transfer a different effect to this weapon, I can't - unless I delete one of these effects with a Deletion Fossil. But I'm starting to understand Transfer, anyway, so I want to focus on Upgrade.
So, my Light Rod +54 has 68 EXP, and ATK is 40+ 54.
My first weapon to add (or merge, or however you call it) is a Bronze Rod +32, with an Item icon(?) at 12, a gnome icon(I think that's what the picture looks like) at 18, and MP with an arrow at 20.
Bronze Rod has EXP 0, ATK is 60+ 32.
So, when I tap the Bronze Rod to say I want to use it to upgrade my Light Rod, it shows I will gain +17 ATK, and my EXP goes from 68/91 to 109/117. Also, the MP with arrow effect on my BASE WEAPON gets +4 - but the other effects get nothing.
So, the effect "upgrade" I understand. But the ATK and EXP bonuses - I don't know where those exact numbers come from, since there's no EXP on weapon I'm adding to my Base Weapon, and the ATK +17 does not "match up" with the ATK listed on the Bronze Rod. So there must be some calculations that I'm not aware of, to determine how much EXP and how much ATK bonus get added on.
Now, I just hit confirm, and my Light Rod (the Base Weapon) now says:
Light Rod +71
Next EXP 109/117
HP 20% MP 20% Hp with arrow 25% MP with arrow 20%
So the ATK on the Bronze Rod did get added in, but not the full ATK of 60+ 32.
I hope I didn't just make this more confusing!
Also for Upgrade, You do Lose the 57 on the weapon. But that 57 will be added to The weapons A Exp Meter.
That was the part I got hung up on.
The way I read it originally was that you lose the 57 on Weapon A, so I was all like, "What are you guys talking about?!"
So I've reread what I wrote, and now I've just confused myself
(no worries, I actually do that a lot...)
So, starting over - I have two weapons for Izayoi:
So when I combine these weapons, it shows I will gain the following:
So, the STR 28 effect, and the ATK +13, are lost in a manner of speaking, BUT the values for these effects are added into the base weapon EXP (So it's not like you completely lose out because weapon B has effects that aren't on weapon A, and you're not "losing" the ATK on weapon B - it's just that it adds to the base EXP, not to weapon A's ATK value.)
So I think I could just read things too literally, and that added to my confusion. I think what I've described here is pretty accurate - the only thing I still don't understand, is where do all the numbers come from, for my base weapon to go from 0/109 EXP, to 61/115 EXP? That seems like a lot more numbers, than if each unused effect and weapon B's EXP values all were worth 1 EXP point

Guild Saber +6 | Bronze Saber +13 |

SPD 12 Countdown 12 (something else) 22 | STR 28 Countdown 26 |
ATK +4 | Next EXP 61/115 | Countdown +5 |

^ You Got it right. However, The EXP system is a bit more complicated. It actually depends upon the weapons rarity ( Not the Orange, Red and purple thing ). For Example Maid Brand if Upgraded with Short Sword, will lead no outcome, it will like add 6 EXP to Maid Brand. However If I were to Add Muramasa (Which is a rare weapon ) to Maid Brand, then Maid Brands EXP will Skyrocket X3. In Short The Weapons Exp system depends upon the rarity of the weapon.

The rarer and higher + the weapons have, the higher exp it will give. here is a summary on how to upgrade weapons. And expund on what Nemomon said.
1. Each effect must have at least 30 points to be transferable.
Pretty much direct. Any parameter less than 30 cannot be transferred. Swoon, no matter the value will not be transfered.
2. You transfer stull in their order of appearing. If two or more effects are above 30, and You have just 1 slot left, You will transfer only the nearest applicable effect ) this is changed in the Cross and You can choose which one You want to transfer).
As you can see, there is Slot1, Slot2, Slot3, Slot4 for each weapon for parameters.
When transferring, parameters, The parameters that can be transfered are checked from Slot 1 to 4, and transferred to the base weapons left most free slot. And the effect that will be transferred first is the parameter with a value on 30 starting from Slot1 to Slot4.
For example,
Base Weapon
Slot1 - Speed 15, Slot2 - Str18, Slot3 - free, Slot4 - free
Weapon with effects you like transfered
Slot 1 - Paralyze 50, Slot2 - Break 20, Slot3, Int35, Slot4, Vit 40
When you transfer, the effect that will be transfered are paralyze50 into base weapons Slot3 and Int35 into base weapon Slot4. The Vit will not be transfered since the base weapon slots are full. To do this, you will need remove an effect in the base weapon by deletion key. And using deletion key will always remove the effect on the highest slot always. In this case, if you use deletion key on the base weapon, Str18 will be removed.
It's pretty hard to create a weapon with your desired parameters because it always follows this rule. More so for weapons with multiple parameters and more than one parameter have a value of 30 up. If the effect you need is the vit40, then the only way to transfer this is by removing Str18 on the base weapon and transfrerring paralyze, int and vit on your base weapon. the most effective and efficient way to create your weapon with parameter of choice is to find a weapons with a single parameter that you want to transfer and transfer it to a blank weapon.
In my case, I have a weapon with only speed parameter only, another weapon with break parameter only. one weapon with crit parameter only and one weapon with str paramter. I individually upgrade these effects and once they reach 30, I transfer them to my blank weapon of choice. Also, parameters like Speed, Int, Vit and Str are much better put in Slot4 so you can have a choice of deleting them. At end of the game when your lvl999 and use seeds and such and reached max base stats, these parameters are useless.
3. If You're upgrading weapons, each 5 points of an effect adds 1 point to the effect of the weapon You're upgrading.
Pretty much straightforward. 1-5 gives gives 1 point upgrade on base weapon. 6-10 gives 2 points, 11 to 15 gives 3 so on and so forth.
4. Other effects and weapon stats increase the LV of the weapon, and the weapon You're upgrading gets more attack points.
Higher level weapons, higher parameter values, higher upgrade level will give hihger exp on your base weapon when upgrading.
5. When You transfer effects, all attack upgrades are lost.
You'll end up with a white weapon with no parameters and upgrade on the weapon you collected your parameter with.
6. The best effects IMO are: Strength, Critical, Speed, and Brake.
I share this thoughts. But for those who are starting, hp and bp regen are also good.

Nice, A very good, lengthy well thought out explanation. Good work.
