When it comes to cooking games, you're either a fan of them or not. So I can understand why some people aren't jiving with Marenian Tavern.
There are a ton of games in the Stores that are cooking games, and I don't like any of them. The first cooking games I ever played were the "Chocolatier" series on the PC. I absolutely loved them! To date, I hadn't been able to find any game like the "Chocolatier" games. That is, until Marenian Tavern came to my attention. So I'm really geeked about it.
I rank the controls in MT sub-zero. The controls are awful, and probably the worst I ever had the frustration of using. Yep, sometimes the dialogue is long, pointless, or boring, but on occasion the little jokes made me giggle. However, if you like gathering ingredients, cooking dishes, and selling them for huge profit, or if you liked the "Chocolatier" series, then you should enjoy this game. It's different from other cooking games because you're not having to cook while impatient and angry customers stand there waiting on you. This game is casual and not rushed & stressful like the cooking games that have been cranked out over the years.
Now this "Adventure Bar Story" I'm seeing in the Forum has me curious. I will take a gander at it and see if it's the type of cooking game I like. Thanks for bringing it up, guys.

@weisteisen
I agree that this game is very much unlike any Kemco game. I was quite surprised by it- pleasantly surprised. Well, except for the controls. Nothing pleasant about those. Haha
Although, I can't bring myself to say that any Kemco game has become bland to me. Maybe I'm just ubernerdy about the gameplay and post-game aspects of the games that I just can't get enough of them. I can most certainly understand your point, tho. Because there are some types of games I feel the same way about - like MMORPGs with guilds and PvP. Gah! Blech! No more.
