Here is a summary of problems I've encountered so far. It is certainly possible that I've missed some strategy that would have made things easier. And I'm far from the most cunning player. I haven't gotten anything from the shop/store.

After 12 hours of play (I'm a slow player), my characters are level 33 at story quest 50 (I think you should compare what that means to equivalent positions in Revanant Dogma). I have spend 92360 gold so far, have about 45,000 gold on hand, and perhaps $3000 of sellable weapons. Gold/money is tough to obtain in this game, and here is what I mean.

It costs about 9000 to add a "spirit" (an ore or material in Dogma) to add an effect to a weapon. There are 2 slots available on most weapons. You have 4 characters, and each character can have 3 weapons at this stage, and 4 eventually. Let's just use the 3 weapons figure for now. So 4 charactersx3 weaponsx2 effects=24 slots to fill; at 9000 gold per slot, that is 216,000 gold.

Compare that 216,000 to my about 145000 gold to date, and even adjust for the 3 slots I've filled (216000-27000)=189,000 needed to fill the slots, and you can see that gold isn't plentiful. And of course you will want to buy armor and items. On top of that, many of the more likely valuable effects are very infrequently found on dropped/found weapons.

Battles are tough. So far there is absolutely no defense against abnormal status, nor sudden death.

The "Easy" Fairy Dungeon (like the est dungeon in Dogma) has only 10 levels and doesn't yield very much. Unfortunately, it is also difficult to bring back weapons. I've gone through twice, and one time there was no carrier on the final four levels.

Money is a big problem for sure. At each new town I have just enough to buy 3 new armors. (Sometimes 4, but not always.)

And forget about buying weapons or healing items.

Ok I've found 2 things to help with money but they both depend entirely on luck.

1. I bought one sword in the Fairy Party for 100 points and happened to get the effect Battle reward Gold up. Mine's at 20% but I could probably break the weapon and try for a higher rate.

Also I just got a random drop with a weapon that has a Mini monster encounter rate effect. (Mini monsters give more gold)

Only problem is both of these were completely random so I can't guarantee someone else can get these effects.

Money problem in the game is good ( Maybe frugality is something you might have to do here .) Last time the only Exe Create game to have Money problems was Unlucky Hero ( My God, collecting money in that game was Horror .)

Anyways the game is seriously looking good.

Okay sub quest 7 in the village of the soldier tribe.

Reward = Chivalrous Robber Spirit (Battle reward Gold up)

So there's one option available to everyone.

Hahha, I just ran out of money. [I've never bought any weapons, just some armor.] I now have 4 weapons per character, and I started to break/enhance my weapons. I now have some effects to add, but I can't afford it! So I need to fight a bit more. I'm using a hint provided in Dogma to turn lev 1 effect into lev 2 (I just did that with INT, I'd like to fool with HP as well, as I have some of those lev 1). In theory, if you have enough money, you can have 8 slots filled,. Just imagine if you could afford lev 2 effects (don't even dream of lev 3 unless you want to buy them from the shops), punched up to say 75% each. That's some power, but you can never get enough gold to make it happen.

Oh well, a little grinding the next few days to take care of the effects. I'm now at the entrance to the Overlord's abode. BTW, I don't think I've gotten anything useful from the subquests so far (1-9, & 16). Since I am missing subquests 10-15, I'm using that as an indicator of how far I still need to go to the end.

Thanks. I have that, but was reluctant to add it to a weapon which I would later need to break. I didn't want to get rid of one of my useful weapons, but now that I have 4, I can afford to lose one. I'll stick it on a junk weapon I don't need to keep.

Progress report:
I found gold. I went through the 2nd Fairy dungeon (normal--15 levelsl) and didn't get much in the way of weapons, but I did get meteorites, healing items, and plenty of money (about 100k). So then I undertook the laborious process of breaking/enhancing, and now have much stronger weapons. I then went through the same dungeon a second time so that if I want to, I can do more breaking/enhancing.

I also visited the island down at the bottom of the map, and picked up a good weapon there. It is the home a giant Rock Dragon, who yields about 5000 gold, but he is fast, so you better be prepared.

Awesome. I did the Normal Fairy Land dungeon (on Easy difficulty) with the Chivalrous Robbery Spirit on one of my weapons (actually I had two of them since I got one from the Fairy Party.) I wound up with over 1 million gold - and went from Level 31 to 51 - but it seems like it took FOREVER.

I may be exaggerating, but it honestly seems like I spent about two hours in that dungeon. And if I had not, I wouldn't have been prepared for the boss battle at the end of the "past" world. (No details on the battle, though - they actually did sneak in at least one really good surprise there.)

I didn't know about the Rock Dragon, and now I'm back in present time, but maybe there's something similar on the 300 years+ World Map...

Anyway I'm starting to think that this game was almost designed so you'd have to grind in the "bonus" dungeon at certain parts of the story, or else it would take you forever to get past the boss in that area.

But, yeah - the only practical way to grind for gold and EXP is the Fairy Land dungeon. And it does take a LONG TIME - but it's totally worth it.
