Hey, I just got a Ghostly Essence drop in the Depths of Kalgor. I’m not sure I’ll ever get alive out of here, but at least I got one.

I never got a Ghostly essence as it's one of two incredibly rare things in the game, they make Ghostface Weapons. But it's not worth it spending hours to grind for it despite it's the best set until you beat the "Final Boss" as Post-Game stuff is better..
Another hours spent without any changes. I guess I'll have to throw bottles every turn although it's useless as well.

I am making slow progress through the Depths. I got smarter, and now refresh my buffs anytime they start to get low so that it is unlikely they will run out during a battle. That has made a difference.
I do wish there was the opportunity to sell of inventory prior to the boss battle, as I have a large collection of equipment that will bring a large bunch of Gems. I sure don't want to leave this long and tedious maze and then have to return, so I guess it is just stick it out and hope I can vanquish the boss (when I eventually get there).
It sounds like you don't have a fair fight, that something available in the non-android version is required.

I'm making better progress in the Depths now that my spell casters have reached level 87. They got a better poison and a better guard. Juggernaut, whose level lags, continues to be killed on the very first turn. But I can survive that, and I even survived a mob ambush (but that does take some luck). Still a long way to trek through the spiral, but it is easier now.

My party has made it to the inner sanctum of the Depths of Kalgor. I'm apprehensive about the looming battle with the Soul of Kalgor, as my level is quite low (87/79). I sure wish I could exchange all that treasure from the depths for Gems to enhance my party prior to taking on this monster, but there isn't any way to do that without having to traverse the entire dungeon again. What a slog to get through this dungeon.
We won! In our very first attempt, we managed to defeat the monster in the Depths. Things appeared to be in good shape, the monsters was almost dead, when it made a vicious counter attack that left only Warrior alive. Fortunately Warrior had the presence of mind to use Life in a Bottle, and just two turns later the struggle ended as the monster expired.

I'm going to take a break for now. The Forge of the Ancients dungeon is just another long trudge with enemies who hit plenty hard. And without a map, I struggle to figure out where I am. The basic approach appears to be the same as in the prior dungeon, just tougher and more of the same. With no reward from the prior dungeon (I don't recall getting anything from the boss or any treasure it was guarding), I don't have much incentive to move forward. Providing a map only as an infrequent drop is not my idea of entertainment.
[EDIT added] I have opened 13 of the treasures and have 2 of the Gemstones fragments. At least it is possible to teleport out and come back in some places without having to start from scratch. My party dies about every 4th battle. There are some monsters that can 1-hit everybody except Warrior. There is one configuration where there are 4 of these monsters and then a 5th dragon, and unless I get lucky and can paralyze them all, they usually destroy my party. So it is very slow going. At least I finally got a map to drop. ]

From what you say this is an unfair boss. I will not get as far as you. I see experience gained in these dungeons is LESS than in Larkwood, and monster part drops are quite rare. I want to finish Forge of the Ancients, and then I'll probably stop.
At around 1000 EXP per battle, and at least 200k needed per level, it will take me 22 (levels)*200=4400 battles to reach your 110 level! And at these high levels, battles go slowly, constant attention to buffs is needed, and of course thee is travel time between battles. At one minute per battle, and not counting all the other time consuming tasks, I face 4400/60=73+ hours of battle time!! So I'm not anticipating doing too much more after this dungeon.
Congratulations on making it to 110!! That is quite a feat. And much thanks for all your tips and encouragement in your posts.

I finally cleared the Forge of the Ancients. Those last two treasures with the gem fragments took some time for the long paths. Just before that I went to Crotas and cashed in some gems to power-up, and that made a big difference.
I went to Larkwood, and it appears to me I am quite underpowered for the next boss. I'm at level 89 (81 for Juggernaut), and the Larkwood monsters are from dungeons prior to the Forge of the Ancients. So the game sees me as not really ready for the next tough battle (the monster boss at the Forge). I'm not sure what I should do at this point. Larkwood grinding seems like a waste of time because the drops there would be weaker than I already have, but perhaps grinding in the Forge of the Ancients might yield some improved equipment drops (some Ghostfire weapons--I did get a Ghostfire Mail).
I remember your post about beating the Forge boss (Virulin?) and your screenshots of stats show your party was at level 98. I think you struggled until you got to around 97, so with my party at 89, I need to grind up. Any suggestions?

Level 97 was just to get the Spells that give great boost to fight the Boss. You should grind wherever you want but do it only at areas you can survive without dying much. It's OK to grind if you lose someone in fight as long as you are able to revive them after battle. So grind at the Forge if you want

I'm slowly getting a little stronger, and have just made it to level 93. But when I looked at your stats when at 98, almost everybody in your party has double my party vitality. I can see from your posted snapshots that some of your equipment is a grade up, but how do you get it? I've looted all the treasures, as far as I know, and except for the "furious" monster and the treasures in the Mines, I'm not aware that any upgraded equipment is available except as a very rare drop from the highest level monsters.
I did a little study of 421 battles at level 92 in the Mines, and the "furious" monster shows up about 1.5% of the time. Of course not every drop from it is equipment. "Rare" equipment drops in the same set of battles was a little less than 1%, and not the best items (the monsters in lev 92 mines must be lesser level than those in the Depths of the Ancients).
Is my assumption correct that most of the difference in vitality between my party and yours comes from equipment? What is the best plan for getting better equipment? At less than 1% drop, and of course no guarantee that the drop would be superior equipment, that seems like a long, long path. [In the Mines I can do about 100 battles per hour at lev 92.]
