Haha...I'd need the Hubble Telescope to see level 144 from my earthbound level 64 :(
Congrats on getting a killer strategy--two turns to whack him is quite impressive :cheer:
Whacked him, with a Fully Powered Clamieh Solace( not full but like +700 ) with Fever Enhancements and my ATK Up while his defense is down. On level 144 Killed him in Two Turns.
When you fought him with the Light Sword +999, were you also on Level 144?

I found your footprints in the sand leading to Fleon, so I just followed them. I walked in your steps and wham! my 133 level characters took out Fleon and gained a Fever Ring. Thank you Azyleo.

I've started grinding in the Hell dungeon. I'm not sure how far I'll go, I guess it will depend on how long it takes to level up.

Anyway around the 70th Floor or so, I started getting weapons with +40 attack and +40 added effect, almost every time, no matter what the effect is. The latest one had damage down +40% (I think it was on a Crystal Sword, too, so not a bad weapon but not the best.)

This is making me start to think all the time I spent breaking weapons and trying to get a high effect was all for nothing - that it would be far better to just get to the Hell Dungeon and then start farming weapons that have an effect you want, with a high rating. (But only for those who want to go on and face all the bonus bosses, of course.)

Hell dungeon is the best way to grind. The weapons and the amount of gold is awesome. Not to mention that you also get Ultra Rare Spirits there.

Also I use my official "Grinding Weapons" when I level up.

Well, yes, it is the best place to grind, but I didn't find any of the added effects to be useful. And I'm not sure they are actually "higher level" than the low values. That is, effect x at 2% may be capable of reaching that 40% via breaking/enhancing (but I'm not sure). The only effects that appear to level up are the same ones you see in the shop (HP, SPD, INT, STR, etc.). Now, which effects might be critical against the killer bosses (because you don't need them otherwise)? I don't know--I tried paralyze, and that is too uncertain. Reduce damage worked in Dogma, so maybe that one is worth something. Everything is a trade, and I opted for speed (we KNOW you have to do that), HP, and STR. Also, I found it critical against the Emperor to have a weapon that can lower attack and defense. I don't recall any effects that do that: only the weapon's "native" skill has that power. I might be wrong there, but so far that's all I have seen.

My breaking/enhancing was always to get HP, SPD, INT, STR up to level 3 type so I could add them at 100%. Anything else was just experimental at the end to see if it would work against the mega bosses. I think Azyleo had the right idea about the grinding: get money and meteorites (money is better) to upgrade the weapon of your big hitter. The Hell Dungeon is the best place for that. Of course you can't make any progress in that dungeon until very late in the game.

I forgot to mention the obvious, but just in case I'll talk about it now. The economic model for these games REQUIRES lots of grinding to be present. Why? Well, how do you make money from a freemium game? Ads? These can be turned off, as you know. No, you make the game time demanding enough that many players will opt to pay a small amount ($5-$10) for a shortcut of a few hours. That is the purpose of the ingame purchases, so making the game not too difficult but somewhat slow is the stick to make you pony up for the carrot. If the game were both difficult and slow, too many players would get discouraged and not bother putting another quarter in the slot (for those of you old enough to have spent a lot of time in the arcades). The hard core gamer may stick with the game, but he will not pay for the shortcut.

Woah..... You summed that up quite nicely.
Indeed, I still have the GSP that I got when I bought the ad removal, and not once did I opted to use them.
( Speaking of Arcade...... a harder game like street fighter didn't stop me to put another penny in, I liked whooping the CPU after I got my own behindwhooped by them..... ah good memories ( and I am not even that old lol ).)

Great explanation of the economic model. Of course even Kemco's earliest games have "bonus" stuff that you can buy in the shop - sometimes it's extra characters or dungeons, and sometimes it's 'useful' items, like we see in this game. And almost always you can earn points by defeating 5 enemies or winning 5 battles - or you can just outright buy the points with real $.

(A few times I've spent a couple dollars on a game, but usually I just grind enough to get the points for what I want. I played Symphony of the Origin 3 times to earn enough points to unlock all the bonus stuff in that game - but then, it is one of my favorites, and it's also a really short game, about 8-9 hours. And now it's also on Amazon Underground with free IAP, so you can unlock everything for free right at the start, which in my opinion is a cheap way to play the game but I'm sure lots of people have done it.)

About my post: the reason I said breaking weapons is a waste of time, is that I've found weapons with Damage Down +25%, and spent a good 20 minutes trying to dismantle the weapon, then add the effect to another weapon, and I only ever got +2% to +13% - so finding a weapon that has Damage Down +40% was a huge deal for me.

But for STR, INT, etc., breaking those to get STR 3 or whatever is a good way to go, because a.) it's actually possible :silly: and b.) the added STR 100% is definitely useful. (Unlike some effects, which we've all seen the results are questionable at best.)

So, by all means, trying to get STR 3 or INT 3 is worthwhile, but if you really want a high damage down, or pre-emptive, or some other effects, you're better off trying to find one in the dungeon, than trying to create the high effect yourself.

EDIT: I never thought about it before, but I guess "Insert another quarter," was our generation's IAP.
