What I will add is that players should use skills whenever possible. The final bingo sheet requires the player to use 3000 skills.

Also, I might be a little wrong (though I think I'm not), but after killing the big boss in the second ending there is still something to do. Maidame Curie in the first village opens to the player and sends him to do some jobs. I don't think it's available before the second boss.

I've gotten the true ending, so I guess I can go back to the Maidame.  However, I'm only at about lev 430, and I've been wondering if there is any "metal island" or similar to make leveling faster.

I don't think so, myself I didn't find any yet. But at the same time I didn't finish yet all Maidame quests, so maybe she will send us to one. In the Monster Manual I noticed I still have several unknown places, so who knows. Myself I leveled up at the top of the retro dungeon.

I'm way behind y'all...just starting the True End story line. Quick question. The areas that are LV 999? Do they stay that way or is it just to prevent roaming around there too soon?

I didn't test, but I think all of the "signpost" or warning areas stay that way, and you are not blocked from them.  You can go into the 999 as far as I can remember.  I certainly went into the 700 area when I was only about 400.

BTW, @3beez, your comment from before about the inventory management is so true.  It is a huge pain, when grinding, to constantly have to go back into the items, figure out what you want to trash, etc.  It would help if you could "trash" from the equipment interface, but even then still a pain.

I've gotten to the point where I just ignore it all until the inventory is full, and then pop over to a town and sell it all. The drop rate is so high, plus there's "Steal" and drop stones, that I quit caring. Sure, I may miss an awesome effect on a weapon, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't have the nerve to try that.  I tried putting locks on what I knew I wanted, so that I could then delete everything not locked (sad, there is no "all" button), but then chickened out and scanned everything (and I have even now continued to find improved weapons/armors).
