This Looks Like More Like a Review, so read it if you want :P :
So I Recently Started Playing( Okay not Recently, maybe like 5 or 6 days ago) Machine Knight and Boy is it GOOD. The Game has a Very Retro-istic look yet it has a tiny bit of modern RPG element to it. Music Feels Really like it came straight out of a Tales Of Series and matches really well the atmosphere of the whole game overall. The Battle System Though Is Like Any RPG game of the same type. However Upgrading Your Characters Ability Makes It Really Worth While and are actually required hand in hand if you want to defeat the enemies( One of the Things Kemco Doesnt Do in there games Anymore ). Getting Gold in This Game is Harder Then Anything, buying resources becomes harder aswell. However Weapons Can Be Upgraded At the cost of very little Gold but the materials needed for upgrading are to be your own, which you acquire through the course of the Dungeons and Extra Places, like caves, Small Forests and Underground Tunnels. Side Quests Feel Like A Chore and Don't give any anything worthwhile( Except for The Last Few At Every Castle, Which Provide Tomes for Weapons and Armors ). Talking To NPC's in this game is also better for your own good(Not Required) as they can give you various information, Items and Tomes. Bosses Are Good, but can be a real pushover( Though Still Fulfilling at the same time ). There is Almost no other way to Restore MP, other than resting at the INN or Finding a Cabin ( Coincidentally Which No One is Using ) during your journeys, and as Such Saving MP is always a Smart Move in the game. Unlike Newer Kemco Games you are prompted when a boss is nearby, this game does almost nothing of the sort, and you are almost everytime pushed into a boss battle without preparations( Sometimes You are also low on HP or MP or BOTH! ). Choices in this game make some differences in the story( the changes aren't really to the face, but are still there ) which gives a fresh approach if you are replaying the game. Characters are Memorable( Even The Protagonist, Frain ), from a highly intellectual scientist( Who Sometimes acts dumb, making dialogues Funnier ) to A Cheeky Hunter Lady, Aulin, with a sheltered religious Sister, Bell, dialogues and Conversations never become dull, and always seem refreshing and worthwhile( Some Small Skits are in this game too, mostly at INN's). Story is neither Complicated nor cliched, however kids playing the game may find it hard to understand the dialogues in the game, due high level English being Used.

The Game is Very Good, Should Be Tried by Any RPG fan. I Might Give This a 7.8/10. ( not Bad For a Game Released in 2012 )

I agree. I played a bit of Machine Knight when I first got my Android device (my first tablet was an Amazon Kindle, and Machine Knight never made it onto the Amazon App Store. In fact the main reason I bought a true Android device when it was time to upgrade, was for Kemco games.)

Unfortunately I never finished Machine Knight (I most likely got distracted by whatever the new release was at the time, and I just haven't picked up MK again). But, I did like the skill system. Is it the Machina Board or something like that? It kind of reminded my of the Final Fantasy game where you had the skill board and had to allocate your points (which I really like.)

I agree that the dialogue is top-notch. Another game that had awesome dialogue but otherwise felt a bit sluggish was Bonds of the Skies. At points in that game I literally could not stop laughing.

I think when I'm done with Chrome Wolf (and after I see what Kemco's November release looks like) I may have to play Machine Knight again.

P.S. There are a couple of walkthroughs online for Machine Knight. I haven't really looked at them; I just happened to find them awhile back, so I don't know how reliable they are, or how in-depth - but if you're ever stuck you may want to Google "Machine Knight walkthrough."

(Someday, hopefully, we'll have a nice walkthrough on this site, but probably not for a long time...)

I actually got this from the play store, and here I was trying to find it on Amazon's Store.
Yeah, the skills can be upgraded via the machina board, and the MP usage is reduced, plus the effects of the skills are largely enhanced, crippling your enemies. While I do Agree that this game does have a fair share of grinding, but all in all works good.

The Dialogues are especially witty and humourous( I might try Blood of the Sky, if its on sale ), and Kemco Has Very Good Translators ( I mean Just Look At Those Innuendos hahahaha )

I Mostly Likely think that it Might be Ancient Phantasma since Glorious Saviour, Revenant Dogma, Asdivine Menance Just Came out in Japan. I could be wrong though.

You Know, I looked at the walkthroughs and well, they weren't really worthwhile honestly, and this game actually needs a finely written walkthrough( I must confess, I did get lost in the game, got overpowered by meager enemies and got killed countless of times by bosses XD, but that is what makes the game interesting ). That is why (Fingers Crossed ) I might try writing a walkthrough, even though that aint my specialty, but I can write it though( I also need to complete the four extra arena bosses guide in Asdivine Dios. Curse You MADAME CURIE!!). And well seeing your Maps, I think you will do an even more better job than I do.

Azyleo's account seems fair to me, and mirrors my experience. I played this game almost 3 years ago, so my comments aren't as detailed as his.

The optional side quests are rather useless as far as helping you advance. The drops from monsters are useful, some are quite rare, but there is no monster "compendium," so you should take notes. Raw materials are likewise important, so you should take notes of where to find them, as you probably will backtrack to get more.

Although there is a class/job system, in fact leveling up will solve almost all problems. You don't really need ANY of the advanced spells, etc., although a handful are useful, and probably more important if you don't do any grinding. [I say this because I did grind my levels up and then didn't use any of these spells.]

Except for the constant random attacks, which can't be avoided until late in the game, this is a solid RPG, not difficult, and just feels better to play than several apparently similar games.

The side quests actually give some decent SP for upgrading the machina board. Plus, a lot of them are really entertaining, and the one to find the wandering musician is a challenge (although not necessarily in a good way - I had to search other gaming forums to find the final location for that one.)

I like a lot of the game, but there are two dungeons that, to me, seem overly complex - the "mountain pass" one, and the final flying fortress (after it's crash landed). These were really hard to navigate.

But, what I really like about Machine Knight, is the fact that the dialogue is well written and entertaining, and the game itself has an overall "casual" feeling, meaning you can pick it up and play for an hour or two, and then leave it for a couple days until you feel like playing again. Most Kemco games aren't that easy to put down, so it was nice to find one that I didn't have to play for six hours straight every day for a week.

The only skills I really used a lot were healing skills, and Ol' Diff (I believe that was the name, it was the one that raises everyone's DEF.) Also some of the "all attack" skills were pretty fun, but yeah in the end you can just level up and strengthen your gear, and destroy just about anything.
