Hey everyone,

So I was just wondering what people's favorite games are?

Mostly I'm just curious, but also, I want to know if there are any games I should think about starting a walkthrough for (after I've finished the walkthroughs for Justice Chronicles and Asdivine Dios.)

So, let's see which games are the most popular. You can list your favorite game, your top five, or your top ten (or if you like every Kemco game ever made just say "All of them!") :silly:

I'm totally fine with people listing the same games as someone else - I want to figure out, among everyone who posts here, which Kemco games seem to be the best. (Which ones did you enjoy the most; which would you play more than once; which would you recommend to your friends?)

I'll start off the topic with my "top ten:"

(In no particular order)

1. Symphony of the Origin
2. Eve of the Genesis
3. Alphadia (not Alphadia Genesis, although those games are decent)
4. Crystareino
5. Eclipse of Illusion
6. Asdivine Hearts
7. Revenant Saga
8. Justice Chronicles (so far so good; still haven't finished it yet!)
9. Soul Historica
10. Destiny Fantasia

6. Soul Historica

I didn't play that much games, and I liked majority of them. But among these I played and liked would be all Asdivine games, both Alphadia Genesis games (have not played original Alphadia games yet), Grace of Letoile, Kreisia, both Symphony games (though they were tedious at times), and Fortuna Magus. Started playing Aeon Avenger, finished the Link of Hearts (though I'm unable to beat the bonus boss, because he always kills me with his fire attack even if I'm guarding and have fire protection equipped, and regardless if I will dispel his charging ability or not), Tears Revolude (but it is too 3D for me), and Legna Tactica (but battles were too tiring for me, and the game was not always responding to where I was touching...).

Well, while I have 30+ of their games on either my tablet, phone or 3DS in the case of Grinsia, I don't know that I've played 10 of them yet, so this list is more of an incomplete ranking of the ones I have played.

1. Chrome Wolf

2. Symphony of Eternity -- these two both being legit good, in my mind. Chrome getting the nod based on story-telling, although Symphony is a bit better as a pure game.

3. Alphadia Genesis -- good, but could have been really good if it was a bit shorter. As I said on another thread, when you have the limited monster assets and tile designs, it's best to not provide 30+ hours of content, as some of us will start groaning when we fight our 58th variety of "Licker" in our 9th "cave" dungeon. Does deserve credit for having the best aesthetics of any of their games I've played, though.

4. Machine Knight -- first half was fairly dull; second half was a fun challenge.

5. Covenant of Solitude -- this and Machine Knight could be switched in order. This one is more challenging than the others I've played and has a good plot, but just has things that feel lazy crop up from time to time (just one example: the two feuding world powers are referred to as "Empire" and "Kingdom". Kemco games have occasional translation issues, where groups just get stupid names. "Unicornians" in Chrome Wolf and in Rusted Emeth, clones/androids are known as "Dolls". Wut?

6. Link of Hearts -- short and fairly easy, but it was reasonably enjoyable.

7. Grinsia -- a perfectly kind of okay game. Nothing particularly original or noteworthy, but the sort of thing us RPG addicts find a way to cruise through.

8. Alphadia -- You could see that Exe-Create had some definite talent here, but the game was too easy with overly-complex dungeons where you fought monsters every few steps (which probably played a huge role in the game being so easy). It's up there with Chrome Wolf as far as having a "kick you in the gut" ending, but while CW's was subtly (at least subtly by Kemco standards) hinted at throughout the game, while this one kind of came out of nowhere.

9. End of Aspiration -- Uh, well, momma always was telling me that if I couldn't say anything nice to not say anything at all and this board isn't all that accommodating of profanity, so I'll just say I didn't overly like it.

Currently playing Rusted Emeth at about 4-5 hours in. Right now, I'd probably put it about 3rd or 4th, but it's too early to say. The only thing I really dislike is that you can't compare equipment in shops, but it does one thing I do really like a lot. Kemco games in general tend to have small casts outside of your party members, leading to a lot of bosses essentially being the "Giant Space Flea From Nowhere" trope where your guys will be walking in a dungeon, see a big monster, discuss the fact a big monster isn't going to let you through without a fight and then fight it. Here, you have bounty board, with a lot of those bounties serving as bosses. It might be the bare minimum of "fleshing out" these encounters as you'll get, but it does mean something. Other positives: the golems have a lot of customization options and they're more integrated into the game than Chrome Wolf's tank (which you only HAD to use for what I thought was the game's toughest boss fight).

In a few months, I'll probably have a better, more fleshed-out Top 10 which doesn't include any games I actively disliked.

1. Chrome Wolf (Need I say more?)
2. Asdivine Hearts (Really polished plot and characters I could like and relate to at times. The Rubix system was also very fun)
3. Eclipse of Illusion (I liked the many job classes and the more intresting characters. And the plot twist at the end.)
4. Tears Revolude (The 3D FPS dungeon view was very unique.)
5. Soul Historica (Loved the double endings and the plot twist actually came right outta nowhere which is pretty damned good.)
6. Grace of Letoile (I liked the idea of a tournament and the skill system)
7. Fanatic Earth (My first Kemco RPG.)
8. Blood of Calamity (Liked the setting as well as the many plot twists)
9. Asdivine Dios (The plot twist in the story actually made me cry a bit
Especially with Freya's implied suicide since I liked her the most.
10. Unlucky Hero (Once I finish this game which may be a while, this game will move up the list. I like Jasper a lot.)
We don't make mistakes. We just have happy accidents.

Unlucky Hero is one of my absolute favorites. I think a lot of people don't know about it though, since it's only an Exe Create release (not published by Kemco) I love how the main character is able to outsmart and outmaneuver everyone! (Plus being able to change formations in the middle of battle was really, really cool...)

If you are not playing unlucky hero on hard mode , it means you probably are sane and not a Masochist. ( It is authorized to use this word, don't get me wrong!)
