Hi Overdrive,

Welcome to the forum!

I haven't played Rusted Emeth and have never finished Alphadia Genesis (I just got tired of it one day and never went back to finish).

But I agree with your assessment of the other games you've listed.

Alphadia, as horrible as it really is (the dialogue was not translated well, and the battles are way too easy and dungeons are just.... "WHY?") - for reasons I cannot fully comprehend, I actually love this game. I think it's because the basic plot is so reminiscent of games I played 20-30 years ago, that I'm able to overlook all of the horrible-ness of this particular game, and absolutely fall in love with the storyline, and with Ash and Shion.

Symphony of Eternity (and most others by the same team), I think they do a good job of "introducing" some serious philosophical concepts when they talk about the character's motivations, and they do it in a way where it's "under the radar" - just a casual part of the overall story, but if you stop and think, some of the concepts in these games are pretty profound. (i.e. wanting to live a contented life - is such a thing even humanly possible?)

End of Aspiration wasn't the WORST Kemco game ever, but it's at the bottom of my list.

Machine Knight has some of the best dialogue (switch with me!) - and for the most part, the innuendos are "read between the lines." (For the most part...) There are a few points (like the Thunder God) that are blatantly inappropriate, but overall I could let my 12-year-old nephew play it and not have to worry about anything. (Unlike Blood of Calamity... the innuendos in that aren't even disguised as innuendos!)

I'm currently playing Link of Hearts so I can't comment overall, but I will say that so far the plot twists are very well done and the dialogue is quite good. I also like that the later dungeons are a bit more challenging (no more Auto on every encounter, and bosses require some thought and planning.)

Chrome Wolf has one of the BEST tragic endings of any Kemco game.

Dead Dragons? Well, I played most of that game, but got really tired of how simple it was, and thought the story and dialogue were somewhat sloppy as well. Maybe it's really good, but I couldn't bring myself to finish it.

I do agree overall that Kemco's games are designed to be short (10-20 hours), and as such, they are EXCEPTIONAL RPGs. You just have to go into the game, expecting a casual type of experience, and then you'll be happy with most of their titles. And personally, I find that I don't have the time or inclination to play 60+ hour games anymore, so the fact that these games are shorter, and some can even be finished in a 3-day weekend, is a huge plus in my book!

Oh yeah... Dead Dragons and Dark Seven were probably the lowest point in Magitek to be honest. Dark 7 had an interesting story but i finished the game in about 4 hours tops. And the postgame requires a lot of unholy grinding. (I think the only way you can win the battle arena bosses is to master the Master class which takes a long time)

As for Dead Dragons, it was esentially Oliver at the front, Alk in the middle, and Will at the back. No matter what, Oliver would end up taking the 1st slot once my team finished their turns which meant that Oliver was tanking damage like crazy. And that's how you win the game on auto.

ALTHOUGH I give points to Dead Dragon for Alk's victory animation. It's pretty badass.

Man, Dark Seven is that short? That's kind of disappointing, as I do really like the art style used for the character portraits. They just stand out from the pack in that game.

I also forgot the first Kemco mobile game I played: the 3DS port of Grinsia. Fundamentally, there was nothing wrong with it, but compared to Magitec's other games I played (Covenant of Solitude and Chrome Wolf), the plot was really predictable and didn't have any of the cool twists those others had. Just sort of played like an easy version of a 16-bit or so Dragon Warrior or Final Fantasy game where you got so many healing items from fighting and there were HP/MP refills before every boss, so you never really were in any danger whatsoever. Not the most inspiring way for me to start playing their games, but it was at least competent enough to get me to keep trying them, so that all worked out for the best!

Dark Seven is really short. It's fun, but it's over way too soon. Especially since it boasts tons of Job classes, and by the time you finish the story, you've barely scratched the surface. Ah well... I'd still try it out, especially if you just want something you can easily finish in a weekend.

Grinsia... I played about ten hours of that game way back when I first started playing Kemco (I'd already done Symphony of the Origin, Alphadia, and one or two others.) I started out really excited to play Grinsia but after awhile, it was like it just dragged on... Plus the shifting sands in the pyramid really annoyed me!

(Of course at the time I only had a Kindle Fire, so I could only play the Amazon games. Now that I'm on an Android device, I don't know if I'll ever replay Grinsia, or not.)

I've played a few to check them out, but Hit-Point seems to be my favorite game development team as the only Kemco games installed on my phone are Band of Monsters and Elio. I'd be interested in playing other similar games to either of those though.

The two I know of that are "like" those games are Seven Sacred Beasts, and Valkyria Soul. They're both monster catch-and-evolve type games. Seven Sacred Beasts might be a good choice. I've played both titles and did not care for Valkyria Soul; the monster evolve aspect was okay but the maps are all 2D side-scrolling, and the story and dialogue was, well, not impressive. Beasts is better than Valkyria, but not as good as Band of Monsters.

If you want a real pain in the #$@$#@ Hit Point game, with a good retro feel and an awesome story, I'd recommend Crystareino (although, with a newborn at home it might be bad, because it's the kind of game I could NOT put down, so that might be a problem.... )

It's possible. I get around a lot in the gaming and anime communities. I've helped out on some translation projects, I do development myself (though haven't finished anything yet), I did an incomplete Let's Play of Knight of the Earthends a few years back so you might know me from that on my old Youtube account, and my Gamefaqs account is really ancient and I'm always lending help to people wherever I can. I already know that there's a band with the same name (no O) so meh. Who knows?

Asdivine is kind of split into two story arcs. One focuses on the hijinks of the Shadow Deity and the Light Deity, and the other focuses on central world deities. Since they involve a multiverse system Kemco could be spitting out Asdivine games until the players get sick of them.

Hmm, is that so,yeah i see it right now, hmm and i think asdivine cross will get updated soon(just like heart, but if you see at happy ending harvey become a leader or something like that for a new the watcher's branch at north continent)before that amelia and lucile search for the new successor for kingdom of luminia, and about olivia her retire from her job(i mean priestesses)so that a possiblity that kemco will add asdivine cross 2(maybe)
