Here's my quick rundown of spoiler-free tips for Wizards of Brandel. As usual, I won't give any story spoilers, and I won't give any details about specific boss fights.
As with many Exe-Create RPGs, the most efficient way to break Wizards of Brandel is to use the real-time garden and put most or all stat-boosters on one character. You can also get maid coins from the real-time garden, but this is only worthwhile if you have no seeds to plant. "Dowsing" with the garden plots is never worth it. The rewards are too weak, and the number of required battles excludes battles that are instantly won with the "battle shortcut" option turned on.
If you can find a way to protect your super-powered character from bad status or instant death, you're almost invincible... almost. Optional battles and dungeons will still be a deadly threat!
Wizards of Brandel uses a "teams-of-two" battle system. While the entire two-person team benefits from the lead character's speed and defensive strength, offensive power is individualized. So don't put your super-powered character in the sub position and expect the lead position character to do any extra damage.
Random battles in optional dungeons can devolve into "kill them before they kill you" - you may have enough power to slay the enemy in one turn, but if you fail, the enemy may dish out far more damage than even your super-strong character can survive. Watch out for ultra-strong "Supremo" enemies; their color palate can be hard to differentiate, particularly in the gold dungeon where almost every enemy is already a golden color.
Which character should you make super-strong? Any will work, but Phelia has a natural advantage in that she gets a weapon type that can critically hit metal monsters, and a spell that can slay metal monsters. Other characters need a weapon with a critical hit bonus to consistently kill metal monsters, and getting one can boil down to random chance. "Metal card" accessories improve a character's ability to kill metal monsters by a very small amount, and cannot be relied upon even when equipping multiple.
You will want to spend some money upgrading the wizard labs to do more damage in combat, but don't spend everything. You won't be able to max the wizard labs out until you're adventuring on the lower floors of the gold dungeon.
Weapon enhancements can increase a character's statistics by up to 100%, but NOT past the natural cap of 9999 for STR/MAG/VIT/INT or 99,999 for HP. Keep this in mind when customizing weapons. Note that buffs and debuffs remain valuable through the entire game; buffing still has a strong effect on a character with max stats.
HP Regen and MP Regen have been nerfed in the sense that it's almost impossible to find high values for them, and the Countdown weapon enhancement can't be raised above 25%.
Which familiar spirits should you use? It doesn't matter a whole lot. They'll often just use items, since only characters in the sub position can use items. I recommend sticking with Rhoda, the very first fairy who joins you, because she has some useful spells to buff party members or debuff enemies.
Eventually you will get the option to have a familiar spirit give the entire party a combat bonus. My favorite was Hot Springs Uriel, who blocks bad status, but she is obtainable with maid coins only on console/PC versions. Playing real-money gacha for a chance at her isn't worth it on the mobile versions. For general purposes, a familiar spirit that buffs the party's speed or magic damage works well.
Familiar spirits level up by the number of battles won, not through traditional experience. They can also level up from fetching maid coins, but it's much easier to just turn the battle shortcut on and instantly win against weak enemies, if you really want to raise a familiar spirit's levels.
Although an item to turn off random encounters is available in-game (from Maidame Curie's damage challenge), the item to force encounters with every step is exclusive to the Shop. Console/PC players can grind Shop currency from regular battles (although NOT from battles that are instantly won through the battle shortcut); mobile players have to decide whether drastically speeding up the postgame grind is worth parting with some cash. The fastest way to max out the party's experience or money is to outlevel certain floors of the metal or gold dungeons and force encounters with every step, with the instant-win battle shortcut turned on!
There is a card accessory that makes a character immune to KO from damage, but gives them a 25% chance to faint on their turn. Give this accessory to a slow character, who hasn't been stat-boosted. Their slower speed means they will never get a turn against the toughest enemies, and they will therefore be an immortal tank that soaks up infinite damage.
The Limit Break system is horrendously broken. The Limit Break meter refills in mid-fight according to damage inflicted, and every time a third of it fills up, the player gets another turn. If the player has a large stock of Limit Break meter-restoring items, or if the player equips multiple card accessories that boost how much the Limit Break meter naturally gets refilled, then it's possible to get an infinite turn loop going.
