What to do with excess weapons?

From what I understand, you really just want to use one weapon and upgrade it with cauldron / fortify it till the end. What's the use of other weapon drops then? Especially the dream ticket ones. Can you roll the +x from other weapons onto your main one like other kemco RPGs?

Edit: I figured it out, you can talk to the material exchanger (the hooded figure in weapon / item shops) and he lets you exchange weapons that have +x on them for coins. He also gives you coins for items excess material. I had like 99 bat wings, which I mostly sold. Looks like you can get some pretty neat items for coins, even endgame material. So pretty important mechanic that hasn't been explained at all lol.
