What if there was a column for the RPG style? I've noticed with EXE Create that they had games similar to Asdivine Hearts (Illusion of L'phalcia and AG2) while others were similar to Kresia (Unlucky Hero and Fanatic Earth) and others have taken on the new style such as Revenant Saga and Glorious Saviour. Maybe it could also have a column detailing the level of customization and another for the battle system. Or perhaps a unique feature.
EG: Game______________ Level of customization_____Unique feature
Machine Knight________Moderate______________Machina board(Allows you to choose your classes)
Journey to Kresia_______Low__________________Orb crafting (Combine old orbs to make new ones for special abilites)
Grace of Letoile_________High__________________Choros Gauge (Gather gems in the overworld and assign them to skill slots for new skills)

We don't make mistakes. We just have happy accidents.
The more I think about a summary chart, the more I'm...."no"...at least to the "chart" part. Especially after reading the feedback. Not surprisingly, we all have differing opinions on what information would be helpful. Here's another idea I'll throw into the mix. What about going with MSG Commander's idea about listing the games by developer. This would be the "start page" of whatever we're going to call it (1oldtymer is creative. maybe he can come up a clever title!) . On this page we have a note that says for more information about a game, to click the game's name. The game name would be a link that would take them to forum. Since every game already has its own section, it would be easy peasy to just sticky a thread that has the game info. For example:
Sticky Title: Asdivine Hearts - FYI (again, I'm not creative. just a working title.
)
The post itself:
Asdivine Hearts
Exe-Create
(US Android release date: 2014)
Change Difficulty: Yes. Easy, Normal, Hard, Expert.
World Map: Yes.
Dungeon Map: No
Battle Shortcut: Yes
IAP: Yes. Premium points can be purchased or earned in some arena battles and occasionally by defeating Boulder enemies. (And if we're really motivated we could add in a lower post a list of what items are available in the premium shop.)
Multiple Endings: Yes.
Bonus Content: Yes. Post-game offers Secret Arena, new dungeon, a new final boss, legendary weapons, and more.
This is just an example! But ideally, the first post in the threads would have basically the same style across the games. Then, any additional information individuals want to add (like my silly pre-boss heal point and encounter booster or Lemmy's customization) would be in separate posts. I think this would solve the chart issue for mobile users and maybe get more people into the forum and contributing?
That's my latest 1 cents worth. For now. Subject to change.

Hey, and not because I agree with the idea from 3beez, but the discussion about the chart shows the value of collective brain power. We are definitely working through the issues about the chart. I thing the 3beez approach finds a way to encompass almost everything. We know that the developer is important, and by linking to the top post in the forum, the space issue becomes minimal.
I also think that whatever attributes we think are critical to list we also list in a post about "what should be included in a review." That doesn't mean it is required to put these things in (and I generally would not), but it might be helpful.

Older, but not wiser
( thought I shouldnt lurk in the background for this anymore ) I still don't think that individually stating it in a paragraph format feels immersive. Yes breaking the flow to provide more details is something that should be done, but in this case I believe that giving an idea is better than giving the whole of information, it's impossible to encompass such amount of details into something very small ( of course you already know that )
However what I am about to suggest isn't something "ground breaking" but what you could do is instead of a chart, use a stylised table, each heading on the left hand side and the details on the right, enclosed in a spoiler tag fashion ( Which MSG loves doing tbh ).
Thats my dime regarding this matter.
As for what use it brings. First of all a newcomer in this list would easily be edited. If say the Table needs another Row ( Like I said it would be of Rows and 2 columns ) the stylized table ( since if MSG uses at a separate class property he can easily change the root of the table and every table should change? Not my forte so I may be talking nonsense.)
The table is only a brief guide to explain things which would give them a vague idea of what it is about. Even then it would only prove useful for those people who have actually played Kemco games. New timers first shouldn't even see this list, as it has almost nothing to do with them, since they won't understand what you have written. You can't favor both the sides simultaneously, you need to sacrifice one end for it.

Azyleo pinpoints :cheer: :cheer: the major issue we have all wrestled with in this topic: Who is the audience? Experienced, Novice, Hard Core???
As he says, one approach cannot be appealing to all players. So pick ONE audience, and tailor the appearance and content for them. Certainly the tabbed table is a solution to the size problem, but content is dependent on audience (or should be).

I'm not sure I get the audience thing. I mean would a "novice" even know that walkthroughs and forums might exist? Would a hard-core gamer even care that they do? Do hard-core gamers even play mobile RPGs? It seems that most people who play these games (or at least those who have posted in the forum) have experience with other RPGs. So, I guess if we need a label, the experienced gamer would best describe the audience?
When the whole idea about creating some sort of chart/table occurred to me, I was thinking that it would be nice to be able to look at a summary of the games to see which one to play (or replay, I've a bad memory) next. I'd be looking for things I like such as multiple difficulties, battle shortcut, and yes, even heal points (blame FFX and the healing saving point for that flaw in my gaming addiction!)( And you knew what FF was didn't you? lol See, we have a basic understanding of the genre. I think a majority of the site users will too. For proof, see other posts in forum for jargon such as OP, OHK, cheap.)

I love all these contributions! :woohoo:
I think this could turn into something really cool (and hopefully "useful" as well, but sometimes I'll settle for just plain cool.
)
I think there's enough to get a "beginning idea" for the finished product, but experience with writing walkthroughs has taught me that the end result is never what you think it will be when you start. (I hope that's not too cryptic or confusing.)
I propose that we start a very small list so there's a visual to work from - but keep in mind there's over 50 games on Google Play, so finishing this project could take a long time - which is not a problem; I just want to make sure there's some agreement on the format before I say, "Go," and then determine a month from now that it's all wrong and has to be rebuilt from scratch.
(Which, Azyleo can tell you, I have personally done just that with more than one location walkthrough... I blame it on no support groups for crazy obsessed perfectionist web designers in my area...
Seriously though, I don't want a situation where 3beez puts in a ton of effort and then I say, "oh, well that's nice but could you add a row for ....., for all 50 games?")
Having said all that, this is where I'm at right now:
The Product
The general impression I get is that, if we do create some sort of "game picker," (for lack of a better term), that it should just be highlights about the game and its features, possibly with links to relevant reviews or forum topics.
I see it as something that would complement the reviews and the forum, but would in essence be more of a snapshot, than an overly-detailed list. (And I'm good with the idea of linking to forum topics, reviews, walkthrough pages, whatever would help people to find more details, should they want them.)
The Audience
I think if we do try to "target" a specific audience, it should be the people who are already active on the forum, as they're the best indication right now of who is actually using the site on a consistent basis. So we can keep mini map, battle shortcut, and all the other terms that are already in use. (If someone new doesn't understand what it all means, they can always ask.)
Working out the format
I've got family stuff going on tomorrow (which I have to go prepare for tonight), but I'll try to put together something really basic over the weekend.
Alternatively, if 3beez wants to create a page for one developer, and fill in some information for just a few of their games, I will publish that information and put a link to it in this thread. That way we can get a better idea of what it would like, actually published (but only do a few games so you don't invest a ton of time into it this early on.)

All your base are
I agree with MSG.
As for the audience, well I don't know if I am hardcore gamer ( I have platinumed many RPGs, and I play on Hard Mode and above, and mostly try to do No Damage playthroughs in ARPGs including Dark Souls lol ) but what I do know is that, Hard Core gamers will definitely not look at this list.
Novice will most likely. Please remember that in this day and age even a 6 year old knows what's a walkthrough lol. So it's not weird that novice ( in the genre ) would get a vague understanding of it. Newcomers however won't.
As for experienced is the best way to go since, experienced range to Hardcore players aswell. So this would be the best audience to cater to. The Novice can always check the forums, while the newcomer would leave right away lol.

Okay not sure if my 2 cents will be helpful or matter much being so very new here. But as far as "The Audience" I don't really see trying to target just one singular "type" I would think that a Variety of different level users would check out the chart info, for many different reasons. Seasoned users who may have forgotten some earlier games they played (Lol) and just want a refresher. Some have played so many they start to run together and get stuff mixed up from game to game. Novice players are looking for a good place to start for a game. Experienced users want a quick look to see if a game may suit their likes or gaming taste. So that's why I don't think it should be targeted to just one "type" of player. But hey what do I know I'm just the new guy around here lol. Oh and yea that may have been a bit more than 2 cents worth lol

And that matters not. So what if you were a new guy here. I remember 3beez giving us a whole PDF file of Kreisia, and 3beez was relatively new. New guys opinions are the ones that truly matter, so you shouldn't shy out and not express your views here. At least for me. Right now you gave a very constructive criticism and that will always be valuable.
