Hello there!

My question: is there any order to play asdivine series or are just they independent games with common traits? If there is an order (especially story wise), I would like to know it before I start randomly with any of them.

Advanced thanks!

Lemme see: Hearts should be played before Hearts II, likewise Dios before Menace. Cross can be played anytime as it is unrelated to the above mentioned four games, but some concepts are reused.

First time replying to someone on a forum, I apologize if I make a mistake somewhere but Kamura ties in all the Asdivine worlds so I played it after I finished every Asdivine game. However, it came out before Saga so you could also play it before that too!

Asdivine Saga is the remake of an older game with - if I remember and understand correctly - no (relevant) ties to the other Asdivine games, so you can just play it whenever you like. Asdivine Cross was also remade and can be treated the same way. If you're completely new to the Asdivine games, you can easily start with Asdivine Saga and then Asdivine Cross. Another reason to start with Asdivine Saga are its antiquated mechanics (even in the remake) - you might be a bit underwhelmed if you played it sometime in between.

And Sera / Enah is correct, Asdivine Kamura should be played last because of its ties to Asdivine Hearts I & II in particular.

Heya, this thread is quite old and was created before Kamura was released in Japan as well.

That's right; the Asdivine series wasn't closely connected until Kamura. All the Asdivine games so far have been set in their own independent worlds, according to Exe-Create themselves.

For newcomers, I highly recommend starting with Saga. There's a related thread on the Steam forum for Asdivine Saga where I made a similar comment.

I suggested this order in that thread:

Asdivine Saga - Asdivine Cross - Asdivine Hearts - Asdivine Dios - Asdivine Menace - Asdivine Hearts II - Asdivine Kamura.

Even though Saga's remake was released after Kamura, Saga is the starting point of the series. It explores the concept of a Spirit Deity governing a world and the manifestation of its inner darkness similar to their own, which is also a theme in Dios.

Exe-Create has also stated that you'll enjoy Kamura much more if you've played the other games first due to Kamura's theme, "What is Asdivine?"

Asdivine Kamura ties into both the explored concepts and themes of Dios/Menace and Hearts/Hearts II.

I won't spoil what it is, but Zaddes mentioned it quite a lot during his antics with Shiki, and his reason why he's doing it with any Asdivines affected by it, and what his role truly is all about.

Even if Asdivine Dios and Asdivine Menace were chronologically set between Asdivine Hearts I and Asdivine Hearts II (which I don't know), I would still prefer to stay with the characters and thus play Asdivine Hearts I and Asdivine Hearts II in succession, but it's up to each individual, of course.

If Exe Create ever runs out of ideas, they can simply declare that all of their games are part of the Asdivine universe, which would result in a lot of possibilities to revisit old games and characters.

To be honest, the series has no proper chronological order to play. As Exe-Create stated, each entries are set in their own independent world, thus, you can play in any order.

I also suggested that order in the thread:

Asdivine Saga - Asdivine Cross - Asdivine Dios - Asdivine Menace - Asdivine Hearts - Asdivine Hearts II - Asdivine Kamura.

(the rest is in qoute replies)

Playing Asdivine Dios and Menace between Hearts and Hearts II makes more sense for the plot of Kamura due to certain elements I wouldn't spoil.

In fact, the first two games, Hearts and Dios, are just the beginning of a much larger story that plays into the events of Menace and Hearts that becomes the themes of Kamura’s events. Hence, Hearts II and Menace are the last entry that anyone should be played last to fully understand some aspects of Kamura’s events and storyline.

But indeed it's up to the person if they want to or not.
