Yep. But something a bit unusual, at least for me. At about lev 54 I went to the far northwest island with all the gear needed to torch the metal monsters, and it went quickly. BUT...later, when I was stronger, and with battle shortcut on, I didn't need any special stuff to destroy the metal monsters. I don't know if that was the case in prior games, and I don't know just what level you need for this, but with the attract jewel, battle shortcut, and no special jewels or weapons, every monster dies instantly. You can do the same on the other metal monster island if that one yields more experience. So you start low with the special weapons (I had the 100 damage thing on two players), no real weapon buffs, etc., but once you reach level x (I don't know what that is), you switch battle shortcut on and you zoom along.

Does the battle shortcut work that way on metal monsters in prior exe-create games?

Well, not really. But the thing is, it's not that easy to grind in Legendary Sewer when you are too weak. I mean, sure, your Dark Inferno + Comet combo will instakill any mooks that are not Hades Dragon or Motley Kraken (on Hard+), but still, that's two mooks you'd have to flee from. The auto-battle also requires a pretty high level to start kicking in. And Timewarp Tower (my preferred grind area) is behind a paywall. Oh, and both areas are NG+, while Metal and other regions are available as soon as you have an air/ship.

Answer to Oldtymer:
(You like equations so here is one for you! )

Battle Short Cut ∝Difficulty*(n+Level)
Where n should always be 30 For Easy, 60 for Normal, 90 or so for hard and 120 or so for Expert.
^ this stands true for all encounters in all Exe Create games.

As for Legendary Sewer, I spammed Worlds End on every battle and every battle except Chaos Dragon ended in a meager time of 2 secs. Worlds End, way to OP in Cross and Hearts.

Spamming World End is certainly not a bad strategy, yes. When you have it. And considering its requirements (99 in all elements, I think), chances are, you don't until you already leveled up by a few hundred levels. (i.e. not too weak)

And frankly, considering there's a character who can become almost invincible on a whim pretty much from the get-go and gets even more broken the weaker it is compared to enemies (Lucile), World End is honestly not that OP.

While it is true, most people don't have that skill, and getting Worlds End is much, much more feasible.
If you can 16 Shot Everyone with 9999999 Damage, then well yeah, you can pretty much break the game from the get go.

I didn't expect that Metal Monsters would be subject to the shortcut. So in Cross as soon as you get the airplane, you can go to the island, quickly (assuming you have something like the 100 jewel(s) get past the threshold for battle shortcut, switch to shortcut, and really level fast. If by some chance you have an attract jewel then (probably not), wow, you can get to 999 with almost no effort.

Forgot to mention Battle Shortcut in my post, but yeah, 1oldtymer got it. Just get strong enough to engage the shortcut, and then equip whatever item gives an encounter with each step.

I suppose it wouldn't matter what other jewels or rings or what-have-you, or what weapon effects you selected, so long as you can get the Battle Shortcut to kick in.

If you're really cheap (which, admittedly, I am), you can set the difficulty to Easy, use whatever setup you need to get the Battle Shortcut to kick in, and then as you level up, adjust the difficulty until Battle Shortcut works on Expert.

So far in Dios, Menace, and now Cross, I've gone from lv 100-something, to 999, in less than in hour, in each game, using the same basic strategy on a metal island (only because metal monsters give SO MUCH EXP it's insane - but it might work in other locations too.) (Though I should also add, in each game I had the Experience Orb from the IAP Shop, so without that, it might take an hour and a half lols.)

Additional tips: you can move to metal monsters 2 area in the middle of map after level 230, then it works until 999. I lvled blindlessly without attract jewel and exp orb still took me an hour and half because the mons in metal area 2 give wayyy more exp. 1m~5.5m exp per run not counting any bonus exp.

Yep, I moved there after awhile, but probably around 400-500 (I didn't have any clue when I would be strong enough.
